If you are passing through Villa San Giovanni either going to or from Sicily, you should not even think of staying anywhere else but here! Honestly. Filly, the owner, is extremely friendly, and my room was so immaculately clean and neat and modern and comfortable. And the huge kitchen/sitting room is incredibly well equipped. Xenion is very close to the ferry dock. Great lighting, extremely comfortable bed, fast wifi, roller shutters on all the windows, nice air conditioning. I can’t recommend any place more than this one, and I stay at so many Booking.com places all over the world, especially in Europe.

The owner took such care and pride in the details of restoring the apartments in a 1700's building. The apartment was beautiful, tastefully decorated and had high quality amenities. The owners were very kind and generous. Beach towels and umbrellas were provided for use. The location in the heart of the old city made our experience wonderful. The historic areas, beaches, shopping and restaurants were all within walking distance. The owner helped us with parking outside the city limits within walking distance of the apartment.

I’ve traveled all over Italy and very few places truly stick with me but this one will. A real gem. Tucked away in a tumbledown village surrounded by mountains, only 5 minutes from the sea and 30 minutes drive from the magical Basilicata coast. The location is only some of the appeal, the hosts Lidia and Michele are the real gems. The property is a project of love and a quest for slow living and I think they achieved it. Lidia went above and beyond during my very short stay to prepare a beautiful dinner. Considering I booked very last minutes in the off-season and as a solo traveler they couldn’t have done any more to look after me. One night is not enough. I will absolutely be back to spend some more time in this area and I will definitely be spending it here.
