He picks us up his guests at the piers and answers every question you may have. - The place is well situated, just outside Tuktuk main area. - We had a room in the garden, the bed is comfortable and it is quiet at night. - Kettle and fridge in the room. - Good wifi. - Possibility to rent a scooter. There are in good conditions and with a full tank. - Good restaurant next door, for your breakfast. We'll book here again if we visit again Samosir island.

It's in an excellent location right on the river in the quiet spot of bukit lawang but still only a short walk from where all the action is and if you don't wish to walk there is a taxi service very close by which will get you into town. The rooms are very nice and the food choices are good and there is soft drinks and beers available for those that wish. Also the garden area is very beautiful with a lot of wildflowers and butterflies flying around so it's a pleasure even just to sit on your balcony and enjoy the view

Jhony is very friendly and helpful with any questions. Place is nice and quiet and just a short walk to main part of town. Jungle trek was a great experience and his young helper Lana went out his way to make sure we had a great experience. Would highly recommend

Our stay was great. The hosts organized a driver for us to pick us up from the airport in Medan. As it was our first accomodation in Indonesia on our vacation, we needed a sim card and they made sure the driver will stop at a sim card shop for us. We also did a jungle tour organized by them and we got to see lots of Orang-Utan and other animals. Unfortunately we could not raft the way back to our accomodation on the river since it rained beforehand and the guides decided it was not safe enough. We spent the last night singing songs together outside the accomodation while the host was playing the guitar which was pretty cool. Another bonus is the view on the jungle while lying in a hammock, right outside the room. We would definetly recommend staying here if you want to visit Bukit Lawang.

Lovely and quiet with beautiful views of the jungle and and rice fields. We had a really comfortable 2 nights before and after our jungle trek which was super easy to organise prior to arrival, along with transfers to and from the airport. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming. We ate here for breakfast and dinner and the food was really tasty and very good value for money.

I don't even know where to start! Such an amazing location! The garden is incredibly beautiful, the location quiet and peaceful and yet in walking distance to a supermarket and the village. Clean rooms and facilities, mega comfortable beds, mosquito nets. So cozy! The kitchen! Ellie is a gem, her food and fresh fruit juices were absolutely outstanding. The staff in general was extremely helpful, responsive, very very sweet and made us feel right at home. They couldn't have a better crew to be running the place! Huge compliments, ya'll absolutely lovely people (and canines)! 🌼 Highly recommended to choose the jungle trek with Cheeky Monkeys as well! Our fantastic guides made it an unforgettable experience, it absolutely exceeded any expectations by far! Very empathatic, super patient, knowledgeable and respectful towards this special environment - we couldn't have imagined better jungle guides, nor a better trekking experience! 11/10 stars, thank you loads! 😍

The Guest house is at the end of the village so it has the best of both world (village access & nature with animals and walking trails). My room is very nice with a lovely balcony and river view. The sound of water is loud and relaxing! The guide Wenda we had for a 2 days 1 night jungle trek is so knowledgeable and a really inspiring man. So many cool sightings with of course many ourangutans (my dream come true!). Arif is a terrific host, always chatting with the guests and Risky a talented cook who take great pleasure to share the Indonesian cuisine secrets with the guests (you won't be hungry after diner promise! Actually quite impossible to finish the generous portions of homemade food). Thanks also to Juli and the girls! You are well taken care of at Kupu Kupu Guest House! I already miss this place and the team, real Sumatra hospitality vibes !
