Ioannina city centre is one km away. This hotel is ideally located inside the castle and close to the lake. It is a bit tricky to bring the car inside, but manageable. Rooms are nicely done. Breakfast was excellent and quite unusual. They served sandwiches, wraps, sweet breads, cookies on a large platter for two of us. We could finish only half or so, the rest was packed for us to go. I somehow lost Apple CarPlay connection in our rental car, we being an older couple and technically challenged needed help. The owner, Zois, fixed it for us. Thanks Zois.

I chose the place by chance, but I was incredibly pleasantly surprised by the hostess's hospitality. I travel frequently, but I've never encountered such an attitude. It's like being in the country house of a beloved family, with delicious desserts personally prepared by the hostess. It's a delight!

The stay at the Baldeneige made everything so easy,pleasant, and peaceful that no words can describe. We felt instantly welcomed from Alexandros and his wife Zoi. The breakfast was delicious,home cooked. The room where the breakfast was served had a big fireplace and made the whole place look so cosy and warm. Every morning, Alexandros gave us tips of places and villages worth visiting,we saw practically the whole region and managed even to hike again after almost 3 years since welcoming our daughter.! We felt almost at home, and our 2 year old had fun socialising. The room and the whole hotel was super clean, the room was spacious enough for our daughter to play and warm enough in the cold nichts. Everything was perfect. Returned back to our Base Athens with a heart full of love, a mind full of peacefulness and lungs full of fresh air. Planning on going back next year already!!!
