We were greeted with cheerful, kind, words and gestures that are unmatched (and we have traveled extensively). Love this place and Moffat but especially Karen and David; they are true gems!

It is set 14 km from Caerlaverock Castle and offers full-day security. The bed and breakfast features family rooms. I adored staying at Ferintosh Guest House! It was in a convenient location, safe and had all the necessities I needed. The breakfasts were just lovely (I’m still missing them!) and the room itself provided a quiet location to rest my head and relax after a day out exploring. The shower had piping hot water and great pressure, and the tea and coffee options in the room meant I always had a hot drink at hand. Closet and drawer space were ample and the room had plenty of hooks and hangers for my things. I loved sitting in the armchair in the room to read at night, and appreciated having a full length mirror! Robertson makes everything easy for your stay, he is a wonderful communicated and considerate in what is made available for your stay. It’s so refreshing from staying at other places that take days to respond back (If they do at all!). Staying at Ferintosh was one of the highlights of my trip, and I have nothing but thanks and gratitude for Robertson for providing such a wonderful stay. (And many lovely chats!) I will absolutely be back and can only sing praises for this property. You can book with confidence when you book at Ferintosh Guest House. 10/10

Beautiful house full of character, ideal location very close to Lockerbie yet in the green and calm countryside, very welcoming and helpful people, amazing breakfast, motorbike safely parked in the barn :)

Excellent hostel with its own charm. Convenient location for starting to explore Scotland. The friendly owner offered to park my motorcycle in the garage. Will definitely stay here on my next trip to beautiful Scotland.

Situated in Stranraer, in a historic building, 700 metres from Stranraer Beach, Thornbank House is a guest house with a fitness centre and indoor pool. This guest house has a private pool, a garden and free private parking. Guests can make use of the sun terrace or the picnic area, or enjoy views of the sea and garden. The owner was so friendly, and communication was great. We arrived later than expected, but we were accommodated well. The room was so clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, and the swimming pool was a treat. Could not have asked for more. Highly recommended.
