What a great choice this was. Being on an island it is far from the noise and smells of Aswan and the pace of life is so much slower. It's only a short ferry ride from Aswan itself but you are transported back to a better place to be, especially if you want to have a peaceful and relaxing stay. All the staff at the guest house were great and went out of their way to help. They organised my ferry trips and car to Luxor. Breakfast is made fresh everyday and the homemade jam and bread were the highlight each morning. After which I had a very good hot shower before beginning my day. I hope to return to Egypt later in the year and I'll be back through Aswan and I'll definitely come back to the Mango Guest House.

We loved our stay with Abu, who is an exceptional host. Elephantine Island is a beautiful oasis with extremely friendly locals. The guests house is clean and provides a cozy, family-like atmosphere. I would have stayed here longer if that was possible.

The owner is a friendly and welcoming person. he welcomed us and picked us up from Abu Simbel airport for free. it was a pity to stay only 1 night. I recommend to stay at least 2 nights to enjoy Abu Simbel temple at night and also the sunrise boat ride with view of the temple. breakfast was also great. Big thank you and looking forward staying again.

We had a warm welcome, the staff are all excellent, very hospitable and helpful. The rooms were clean and the view picturesque. The Island has a nice and relaxed nubian vibe. There is a nearby grocery store that is very convenient and delicious restaurants nearby serving nubian food. For anyone wondering. It is easy to reach by boat at al hours either by public or private boat and if you are uncertain ask the guest House and they will help you out. They also helped us arrange experiences in the area such as Abu Simbel and boat rides. I can recommend taking a boat ride with some of the young guys working here to the nubian Village i.e. They also have a very good breakfast at a resonable price.

The host was taking care of all our needs during day. The place is owned by nice guy, proud of his family with 2 daughters. His approach is that guest need to feel like second place to home, when they come and visit his place. Walking distance both to temple and city centre, where there is the best Nubian restaurant I would strongly recommend for food.
