Great location, very close to the boat terminal and food market. Free black coffee and occasional pineapples! Suely put up with my lack of Portuguese language/ use of Google translate very patiently 🤣 She also helped me when my card didn’t work in any of the local ATMs. I felt very welcome despite being on my own. The pousada is very cute, lots of plants everywhere! Upstairs there is a space to chill out, including a hammock. I don’t think there’s enough photos of the garden in the description so I’ve added some more I took myself 😊

The pousada is q hidden gem in a quiet and peaceful location within a short walk of everything alter do chao has to offer. What really stood out was Sue Ellen’s kindness and generosity, going out of her way to make sure you feel at home. She also speaks excellent English!
