The hostel itself has beautiful views of Lake Argentino and the surrounding mountains, which made for a really nice atmosphere. My room was clean and comfortable, perfect for resting after long days of exploring. The common areas were a great place to relax, with a well-equipped kitchen and cozy spaces to meet other travelers. I also appreciated the included breakfast, which was simple but tasty and a good way to start the day.

Elizabeth was really helpful and assisted us with advice around what to do and when, in relation to the weather. The coffee shop over the road was areal find. We especially recommend the breakfast options.

When we came Vivian greeted us with warm hugs, and she did everything we asked for. Navigated us with good restaurannt and told us practical things. Vinvan did our laundry perfectly. If we come back to El Calafate we would like to stay here even though the accommodation is not five star.

All guest rooms in Hosteria La casa de Ketty are equipped with a flat-screen TV with cable channels and an iPod docking station. family run place like a motel where can park right out front of unit. impeccably clean, super fast wifi and lots of little extras like free coffee! san julian is a quiet little town and makes for perfect rest spot after long drive. ketty recommended i do a pinocho tour to justice island to see the massive penguin colony (and babies still with their fur) and it was great. super close to town.

Susana’s place is fantastic! Scenic view of the bay, peaceful and quiet, and only 10 minutes drive into the town. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable. Susana is SO lovely and really cared for us during our stay — her advice on the local area is wonderful and so helpful. Wonderful stay!

The rooms at Hosteria Koonek have a private bathroom with hairdryer, and a safety deposit box. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and public areas. Hosteria Koonek was an amazing place to stay. We only had one night here but it was by far the best place we stayed in Chaltèn and we were sad to leave! The breakfast was great, the staff was amazing, the beds were very comfortable, shower was really nice, and having access to a kitchen was very convenient. We wouldn’t have changed anything.

Love the warm cozy feeling and the owners were incredible.

The staff (Santiago) was very helpful and accommodated very late check in - they were also kind enough to store our bags during an overnight trip to El Chaletan before returning to Hosteria Rukahue for another night. The breakfast was also excellent and freshly made. Definitely underselling themselves as a 1-star! Really good value for money and very comfortable.
