A little oasis of calm in quite a busy area. We had a room with a well equipped kitchen and terrace with hamac and seating area which led onto the swimming pool and terrace which were fantastic with lots of top quality furnishings. It was a great place to relax and we spent most of our week out there! There was something for everyone at breakfast and the staff were really accomodating and friendly. There are three local bars next to the hotel. Burger King and McDonalds are a 10 min walk away and there are three supermarkets and the train station within a 20 minute walk. Vila Real with a ferry across to Ayamonte in Spain is a 45 min walk along the main road or 6€ by taxi and a great day out. We will definitely be back.

Very friendly staff with an excellent check-in process. The room was clean, comfortable and very enjoyable to stay in. We paid a fairly low price (approx 50eur if I recall) and did not except to have such a nice room.

Great location. We had the room with an external bathroom just across from the bedroom. It was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was modern and had a good sized shower. The room was up a few flights of stairs which wasn't a problem for us. There's also a roof terrace with town views. All in all, a nice place to stay in beautiful Tavira.

Situated in front of Gilão River within Ria Formosa Natural Park, Marés offers free WiFi and a relaxing sauna. Many of Tavira’s historical sites are a 5-minute walk away.

The guesthouse is about 150m from Tavira’s main square, and looks over the river to the restaurants and buildings on the South side. It’s on a quiet street not far from the bus station, an added bonus if you are not travelling by car. We were met by the friendly Carla on arrival, who showed us the facilities and to our room. The rooms are themed, and outside each door in the hallway is a small sheet of information about a different aspect of Tavira’s history. There is a lot of character and effort that has gone into making the guesthouse welcoming. The air conditioning worked very well, although we didn’t need it.

Situated in Tavira, the recently renovated Guest House Ziza offers accommodation 5.7 km from Island of Tavira and 41 km from Church of São Lourenço.
