The biggest strengths of MIKI’S guesthouse are Mechie herself and the location. Mechie is such a fun and easygoing host! She made sure I was comfortable, from making the guesthouse super neat to introducing me to the area and people of Tubod. - Guesthouse extremely clean with clean bedding and neat floor & bathroom. No insect inside despite the fact that the guesthouse is in the middle of trees. Mechie is attentive to keep the mosquitoes away and there is a net around the bed. - Large bed and accessible bathroom. Fresh water available in the room and little kitchenette. Balcony on the private garden, very nice to take breakfast. - The Guesthouse has perfect location 1 min away from Tubod Marine sanctuary and beautiful beaches. Coco Dive is right there for diving excursions. Many restaurants nearby, shops and small eateries as well. Tagbaylon Hostel in front allows to meet plenty of people. Location is perfect because it’s not right in the center of San Juan but it’s less than 5min away by motorbike and ~17min walk. - I personally didn’t rent a motorbike so I mostly walked and it’s feasible. For longer distances, you can hail taxi-motorbikes on the way, it’s pretty cheap or ask Mechie to take you around. Tubod beach is a gem that should be visited by sunset. Music, drinks, nice people and the sea, it has a really nice vibe. - Mechie is very kind, she gave me plenty of advice and offered to show me around. She’s everything you would expect from a guesthouse owner and so much better than a hotel. She introduced me to tubod local life and looked out for me. I lived every late evening discussions with her! Thank you for welcoming me Siquijor and for taking care of me, Mechie and JBoy!

I would rate this 10/10!! The staff were soo lovely and friendly, our room was cleaned and left spotless every day and a ride to and from the pier was organised for us no problem. Elaine was great to check in with us and even helped organised a private tuk tuk tour around the island for a great price. To top it all off, the location was ideal!

From the first moment, before I could even unpack my bags, I felt like I had arrived home – to the home of a warm and accepting family, one that welcomes you with a big hug. The staff here is simply phenomenal. Kind, welcoming, and always with a smile that can brighten even the grayest day. But the one who really steals the show (and it's not just because he's the manager!), is the charming manager of the place. A rare person, with a heart of gold and the soul of a true service provider. He proved it on the first day, when instead of dealing with my tuk-tuk driver's lack of surplus, he simply went out, paid for me, and showed me what real caring is. And the story about my being late? When the ferry decided to shut down due to weather changes in Bohol, and I arrived a day after I planned to stay at the hotel, the manager not only called to reassure me, but also offered me an extra night at home. Beyond all expectations, a gesture that shows how much they really care. This is not just “customer service”, it is genuine concern. And let’s not forget the hotel’s furry friend – the cute and friendly dog, who adds another touch of joy and charm to the place. He sure knows how to recognize good guests!
