Had an amazing sleep as the bed was very comfortable, and we could hear the river flowing. You can see the ruins from the breakfast terrace, which is outstanding. The breakfast setting was beautiful and peaceful. Lovely helpful staff too. We were very happy with our stay.

I stayed two nights at El Chasqui and it was a great find. Its a walk up the hill from the train station and easily found on the corner of the main street. Check in was easy, English was spoken and staff were friendly. The room was facing the inside courtyard, the bed was comfy, everything spotlessly clean and at night very quiet. The location is central for everything, restaurants and shop are all around and the Ollantaytambo Sanctuary is opposite. I was catching an early train to Machu Picchu so the hotel provided a complimentary packed lunch for me. Breakfast is provided in the coffee shop next door (2 fried eggs + bread, coffee and juice). I would definitely recommend El Chasqui to anyone visiting Ollantaytambo, you won't be disappointed.

The hostel is very cosy in the meaning that is very typical and "no gringo style". My bed was very comfy and I loved the wooden floor. Just ask how the shower work, it took me some minutes for understanding it.

Las Portadas is one of those places you just don't want to leave. It's very close to the main square but it's a quiet spot with barely any noise. The back door even goes almost directly to the market so the location is great. The inner garden is absolutely blissful. The smell of llowers and the greenery are just superb and so welcoming. The ladies running it are super accomodating and kind. We didn' t have meals but on leaving the place one morning, there was a street vendor selling "causa" and that made my day! I could do yoga in the garden and even in the terrace they have upstairs, so there was plenty of space to chill and relax. THe room is not very big but enough to sleep and move around and the bathroom is also decent size to do what's needed.

Everything was perfect. It's a bit outside of town, so very quiet, beautiful view and only 15 min walk to the beautiful center of urubamba. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant is amazing as well
