The rooms are very good and clean. It was small little bit. The view was excellent. The staffs were so good that we reached hotel around 1:30 AM at night. I told them to prepare our food before reaching and they did that without getting any payment and without knowing that if we would reach there or not. They served out food late night.

Shekhar is a special person that has created a special place for travellers to come together, share and find a likeminded community which this place seems to attract. On arrival I felt immediately at peace as it feels like home and has the best energy. Shekhar is very generous with sharing his time to show guests around the hidden gems of Bhaktapur and knowledge of Nepali and Newari culture. Staying here wasn’t just a place to sleep, it was an experience of getting to really know the city and Nepali way of life. Staying here also reminded me of the important things in life - good company, community, music, spirituality, art, food, learning and exploring. It was one of the highlights of two months travelling Nepal which speaks volumes :)

This lovely guest house is managed by a charming couple Laxman and Sanu who try so hard to make a guests stay perfect. The location is in the heart of Bhaktapur far away from tourist hotels, here you are really immersed in the community while still enjoying home comforts. Dattarraya Square is less than a five-minute walk away where there are a couple of recommended restaurants. We had a spacious room with balcony. Hot water always available and while the room was quite cool in the evenings, a portable gas heater is provided which was very effective. No kettle in the room but there is kitchen on the top floor to make drinks. Good breakfast each morning which is European style with boiled egg, yoghurt and fruit, cheese, tomato and cucumber slices plus bread and jam, juice and coffee.

I enjoyed every minute in the hotel. The owner has managed to create a professional but at the same time relaxed atmosphere. My room was very large, nicely furnished and had a great balcony. It was very clean. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning was quiet, so I could sleep well at night. The breakfast is delicious, but especially the dinner, which is prepared by the mother of the young manager, Crishp. Both, the owner and Crishp, are great to chat about anything. Because I am very interested in the Nepalese Art and way of life, it was particularly exciting to observe all the details (Stupa, Pati, Hiti, Newar windows,…). Everything is still in the process and some things are not yet finished, but the team works very quickly and diligently. It is and will be an even more beautiful house in the future. Maybe it would make sense to get small refrigerators for the rooms and, for example, to add some cool Nepali-Streetart-style- accents to the bar for a Contrast, especially for younger Guests. I wish the very friendly crew a lot of positive energy and the guests a lot of fun!

I truly recommend this very nice place in the heart of Bhaktapur. I really love the city, with its beautiful architecture and rich culture, and I have no regrets about spending time there. The guesthouse is well located in a very quiet neighbourhood, which makes it perfect for relaxing or having a walk around the charming alleys of the city center. The guesthouse also has a rooftop with a lovely view over the city, perfect for watching the sunset. The restaurant is excellent — the best dal bhat I had in Nepal ! The chief is really talented and always makes the guest happy with his cooking. Everyone working there is incredibly kind; I truly felt like part of a family, and I’m very grateful for their warm welcome. They also enjoy sharing their knowledge of Nepali culture and are always happy to give tips about the city and its surroundings. I also had the chance to take part in a newari ceremony "the Mha Puja" they organized with the owner’s family (some photos attached). The ceremony was magical and offered a wonderful opportunity to immerse myself in Newari culture, something quite unique for a guesthouse to offer and I highly recommend joining if you have the opportunity. Right across from the guesthouse, there is also a hostel where I stayed for a while before returning to Bhaktapur. It’s a warm and welcoming place as well, with common areas that make it easy to meet people and enjoy friendly moments with other guests. The rooms are clean, well-equipped, and have Wi-Fi. In short, I can only recommend this place :)
