We really enjoyed our stay at Coconut Surf In. From the moment we booked, Wikum, manager and owner, was ready to help with anything we needed, from transfers to motorbike hire, arrival at the hotel and so on. The staff are all very friendly, which makes the atmosphere very homely. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit, local food, tea and coffee. The room is clean and has been cleaned every day. As we had read some reviews that the room could be dark, we opted for the one facing the beach, which makes it very sunny. It's a 1-minute walk from the beach, and away from the hustle and bustle of the main road, which was our purpose. There are waves right in front, you can see the sea from the breakfast terrace. Still, it's 7 minutes from ahangama, in case you want to explore the area, which is what happened to us. We ended up staying there for the day or for dinner. The price is super affordable and fair. We thoroughly recommend it.

We stayed at Weligama Bay House for nearly three weeks and had a wonderful stay! The place is run by a wonderful family who are super welcoming, friendly, and always willing to help. They help with laundry and transportation, and can also make you delicious dinner or breakfast. We had many interesting conversations with Iresh, the owner, about the culture of Sri Lanka and our home country. :) The wifi is decent most of the time. I was able to work remotely and have Zoom calls. There's a shared fridge and kitchen space with the basic things so you can cook your own food if you want (the big family apartment also has its own kitchen). The location is fantastic, just a two-minute walk to the beach and close to a bunch of great restaurants. I would definitely stay here again!

The host was lovely, kind and helpful. Also very eager to improve conditions when things were pointed out. The guest house is in a good spot on a quiet street close to the beach. The room was ok for what I was looking for.

Namal's was one of the best guesthouses we've stayed in in Sri Lanka. Very comfortable stay, private, quiet, and the most incredible rooftop overlooking Weligama. It was so rewarding to watch the sunrises and sunsets from here. And Namal has to be the kindest and most welcoming host! He really takes care of his place and the people that pass through. We will definitely be returning on our next trip! Also, bonus points for a water filter open to everyone to use- more places should do this to reduce plastic water bottle waste!

Perfectly located guesthouse, across the road is the beach and surf. 2 min walk to the beach road restaurants. Very friendly host, cheap and cheerful room. Separate kitchen and fridge. Laundry can also be done here. I booked for 2 nights ended up staying for 6

I love this charming little gem nestled between mango trees and coconut palms, jumping monkeys amd beautiful peacocks. Peaceful, very quiet, just the sound of nature. Perfect to rest, relax or work without distraction (hispeed wifi). Beach and surf walking distance, 10 minutes to Weligama by Tuktuk. This guesthouse reopened recently by Chandan, such a lovely and caring host. I am happy to stay a bit longer to help him with planting the new garden.
