I am so glad we chose to stay here - the host family are such genuine, warm, helpful and happy people. We didn’t get off at the right bus stop (Debarwewa) and they very kindly arranged for us to be picked up from the Tissa bus stop. Our room was wonderful - comfy beds and pillows, lovely bathroom - everything was new and spotless. There was plenty of room for us and our three teenage sons. There was a couch and coffee table where we could play cards. Susu and Jami cooked us wonderful dinners - the curries were amazing. They organised our safari and Susu woke us up with coffee at 4.15am ready for the safari. Our safari driver - Kassu - was friendly and a great driver. We saw a leopard as well as many other animals. The owners even stood out on the road with us when we left as we wanted to catch a bus - they waved it down and helped us with our bags. Nothing was too much trouble - they let us use the bicycles and we went for a fun ride into town. I would stay again in a heartbeat - my favourite place in Sri Lanka so far!

Lovely stay, such a kind and helpful owner. Served us complimentary drinks on arrival and when we arrived back from the safari. He was so helpful with ongoing travel and brought me to the bus station. Room was spacious and clean, would highly recommend staying in this guesthouse.

My room was clean and spacious. But the best part of my stay was definitely the owner - funny and genuine. He took the time to show me the wildlife of his town and shared his love for birds with me. Definitely a highlight of my Sri Lanka experience.

Travelling for 3 months and Viveka was the best, nicest and most attentive host we’ve ever had. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with tea, bananas and cake and able to enjoy them next to a lovely view of the rice field, and she brought out a smelling stick so we wouldn’t be bothered by mosquitos. She was up at 4:30am to see us off for our early safari tour, and again had tea and pancakes ready for us when we returned at 5pm. Finally, the day of departure, we were brought tea in the morning which I thought all of this was just an incredible considerate extra which we really appreciated. In the evening, she also asked if we’d like to watch the thousands of bats fly across the sky from the viewpoint, and if we’d be interested in seeing the fireflies at the bottom of the garden which was an incredible experience we’d never had before. Also, we were able to buy dinner here which was very convenient after a long day out at the safari and the food was very good. Would 10/10 recommend.

The best stay in Sri Lanka. The host was very attentive and kind. The room was very clean and big, and had a safari vibe🙂. The food was absolutely delicious - fish with pineapples was my favourite. The host organised our safari, wake us in early morning, gave us breakfast to go, and we had lunch after trip. We met an elephant on way back to hotel, and fed him with bananas. So I recommend not to eat bananas and save it for elephants) I’d recommend to stay there for 2 or 3 days, cause after safari you want to rest and lay in hammock. I”ll return to stay here, I’m sure)

5 star facilities hotel at reasonable price. Enjoyed the stay. Staff is very hospitable. Anyone who plans to visit Yala National Park must stay here. Quite an experience!

Such a great accomodation and definitely something different. the Family is very nice and helpful, we could also book the safari in Yala and everything worked out great. In the evening we had Rice & Curry and it was one of the best in whole Sri Lanka. Thanks for hosting us! 😊
