I had the double room with balcony and it was great. Big spacious room, good A/C, comfy bed, shared fridge and kitchen, very friendly and helpful staff and very clean.

This is the perfect place to relax before departure or after arrival. Cozy new house, big clean rooms, everything is thought out to the smallest detail. There is even a safe for storing valuables. There were no problems with hot water, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. We could cook full dinners. Hospitable hosts care about the comfort of each guest. Shops and restaurants are around the corner, there are supermarkets at the bus station. Special thanks to the family for the friendly welcome and gifts! We recommend d marit Motel to anyone staying in Negombo for a short or long time.

We stayed here after arriving in Colombo. The guesthouse is close to the airport and we also took advantage of the airport shuttle. The hosts welcomed us very warmly and cordially and had prepared a delicious dinner for us (after prior arrangement). The rooms were very clean and comfortable, well chilled before our arrival. The next day we also had a wonderful, delicious and rich breakfast. We are extremely satisfied with our stay and would stay here again the next time we come to Sri Lanka.

My partner and I had the best stay at Star Canal Cottage. After receiving a great tuk tuk tour around Negombo from Leon at the start of our trip, we stayed at his guesthouse before our departure too due to his friendliness and consideration. Our room very clean, spacious and light, with a powerful hot shower in the bathroom. The location is great, close to the city centre with restaurants nearby, but down a quiet canal road to enjoy the peace. We read and listened to the birds on the terrace during the day, while drinking home made lime juice before an excellent dinner of home-made prawns from Leon. A wonderfully kind, funny, and diligent host (and now friend), we will recommend Star Canal Cottage to anyone wishing to visit Sri Lanka :)

Deb amd Joseph were from beginning super Hosts and helped us a lot during our last day stay in Sri Lanka. We arrived late at night and were received and taken to the homestay in a confort way. Once arrived, Deb welcomed us with a tea and coffee. I liked a lot also playing with the dog, so cute! The room was spacious and had a big shower with amenities. The day after we enjoyed a great homemade breakfast and went to the brown beach. There was being celebrated a food festival with free entrance. It was lovely meeting local people! Because of our late flight we could do late check out. We appreciated it a lot. The day was very hot and could swim ans chill out in the garden. I think that is the best place to stay in Negombo and can reccommend 100%. Thanks Deb and all thr best from Berlin.

More than perfect. The place is clean and in a great location. Roy and his family are fantastic people and very accommodating. They even helped me organize the following day and book a bus to reach my next destination, saving me quite a bit of time (and money). They also recommended an excellent nearby restaurant where I had a delicious Kottu. As if that weren’t enough, they also prepared a great and thorough breakfast. When I return to Negombo, I already know where to stay!

We stayed at the hotel for three days. We liked everything. The location is not far from the airport. It is nice and quiet. There is hot water and good wifi. The host is very nice and helpful, he answered all our questions very quickly and helped us to find the transport for our further trip. The breakfast was different every day and delicious. And the location is very good for birdwatching - we saw many birds around, even from the terrace of the hotel, which is very cosy and it is nice to spend time there during the hot midday hours.
