This was the first stop in our Sri Lankan trip and We weren’t quite ready to brave the hustle bustle of Colombo, Athma house was perfect for that. A small escape where you could admire the city lights over the lake while nestled behind a jungle shield. However central enough for you get out there if you want to. The owner of the property was our highlight. A fabulous well traveled woman with a warm welcoming energy. Her mission to make us feel at home. The interior was a feast for the eyes. Authentic and eccentric. The property was originally built as her home and it still feels that way, lived in and full of soul. Our only regret is we didn’t stay longer. We stayed for one night and would recommend a minimum of two nights.

Friendly staff, lovely common areas and gardens & rooftop with ocean views. Great food options close by and easy access to tuk tuks and Ubers. We stayed in a triple room, it was perfect for our needs.

It was extremely clean, the vegan food (Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner) was excellent. I came from Kandy, but apparently the place is easily accessible from the Katunayaka airport via the highway.

The rooms are spotlessly clean, neat, and designed to provide maximum comfort. The environment is stunning, especially with the serene riverside view that adds so much charm and peace to the stay. What impressed me further was the reasonable pricing, which is more than justified for the exceptional service and experience they provide. Convenient to the center of Maharagama. Tuktuks and buses are also easy to use. The air conditioner is working so it's comfortable even on hot nights. The owner and staff are very friendly. On the first day, we were able to pick you up at the airport. Paid. Very reassuring.
