The property was just completed so I the very first person to stay. it was exactly as described, super clean and even closer to the beach than I thought! The hosts seemed lovely and were helpful in renting me a surfboard from their place on the beach. I’ll definitely be staying here again when I return to the beach from travelling in-land.

We booked this place for 1 night, but then extended for another 4 nights. We liked our stay and Hiriketiya that much we changed our plan (even this is my 14th trip to Sri Lanka) — Excellent value for money. Similar conditions in the area are for much higher cost. — Three different beaches are available in area: Nilwella - a wild rocky beach, Hiriketiya - a beach for surfers, Dikwella - long beach with tall palm trees and the most beautiful Instagram landscape. Also just in a 2-minute walk away from the Wilson’s place there is a small rocky bay, where you can perfectly meditate in the morning. — Colonial-style newly built house located in a quiet area very far traffic noise, except for the bakery men in the morning or in the evening (who deliver bread and buns, notifying people with a special melody).So I became a bun lover. — Specious rooms with a perfect design. Lots of outlets. Even 2 in a bathroom. All rooms with a beautiful view of the garden. You will definitely give an extra point to bed, if you are tall. — Host Rumesh and his family are very nice and unobtrusive people. Rumesh is always in person or via whatsapp ready to help on any issue. Must try tip: breakfast at Bahia, dinner at Smoke & Bitters, cocktails at Ivy, party at Dots. Cheaper but quality food option: Hiriketiya Seafood restaurant.

I stayed in the dorm. I'm usually not a dorm fan, but this was nicely private with the little walls and doors. Staff is amazing (like everywhere in Sri Lanka). The restaurant is good. Amazingly calm pool area where to relax (has a bar also). Really near everything. Nice beach for the surfers just outside the hotel and other beaches near as well. Good spa that they collaborate with (discounts).

Stayed 5 nights and loved it. Staff are fantastic, the facilities are great - yoga shala, pool and chill out area. Food is extremely good - very fresh and tasty. Great location, 2 mins walk to the beach and main strip. Yoga classes are professionally led, and you can also use the surfboards from the hotel. Room and open air bathroom are lovely. Super clean and comfortable - staff readily available to help with anything and we appreciated being notified when next door venues were having an event in the evening and what time it would end.

Karin and Madu are so nice! I had the most lovely stay because of them. They gave me a lot of amazing tips for Hiriketiya. Madu is also a surf teacher, so he learned me some surfing while I was staying there. The location of the hostel is very central, with a lot of good food spots nearby. Definitely book this place if you're staying in Hiriketiya!

I originally booked for one night and ended up staying for seven! That’s how lovely my time at Mango Hiriketiya was. The room is spacious, the bed is comfy, and the ceiling fan is just right (I even felt cold some nights, which was perfect if you like sleeping with a sheet). The best part of the house is the family, super warm, welcoming, and incredibly kind. They greet you with a juice on arrival, serve a simple and delicious breakfast every morning, and sometimes offer a snack or tea in the afternoon. I was lucky to be there during Poya Day and they even invited me to join them for the local parade. The communication with them is also top! The room is upstairs with a private entrance, and there’s a kitchen available for basic cooking and a dining table. They helped me with my laundry as well. It’s located close to the main road and a short walk to the beach. I enjoy walking, so for me, the location was perfect.

We wanted to make this review to clarify that this accommodation is owned by one of the most Pure hearted and kind people who've helped us incredibly much only in 24 hours. The accommodation itself is clean, nice and beautiful. It was when we arrived in January 2025 only a couple of weeks old and it is clear that the hosts really want to make it special. The beds are nice, aircon is good and the location is perfect, only 5 min walk from the beach, restaurants and surf shops. You chose between English or local breakfast in the morning- and we chose local and we were served a lot of incredible local dishes. Coconuts, egg, rotti, curry and bread and jam and a delicious avocado smoothie. We could eat the breakfast at any time we wanted everywhere we wanted and they were very flexible. We left about 11 keeping our luggage in there home. I had a school meeting so I needed WiFi later in the day and the host suggested his brother's hotel (the neighbor which was incredibly kind and thoughtful). We also had some problems with the local laundry which treated us unfairly, and our host personally went down there to speak with them and even got us our money back. Incredibly kind of him and we were very touched. In general we would 100% recommend this place for accommodation - Also for more than 24 ours. Very clean, spacious and nice place with good and helpful people. ❤️
