Very quiet and cozy place with a beautiful garden full of birds and monkeys. The rooms are clean, spacious, have everything you need - air conditioning, fan, mosquito net. There is not warm water, but during the day the sun heats it up in the tank and it is getting even hot, very nice. There is a large balcony with tables and a beautiful view, it is very pleasant to sit there and watch the surroundings and sunsets. There is a bird watching tower next to the house, from where you can see the national park. We were spending hours there with our spyglass. Very hospitable hotel owner, he helped us with everything and organized a wonderful safari to Bundala national park. Breakfasts and dinners are delicious and plentiful and for a very good price. Not far from the hotel there are lakes with a lot of water birds. The place is a birdwatching paradise. We had the great pleasure of spending 4 days here enjoying and relaxing.

We had a fantastic stay. We arrived and were warmly welcomed. Our room was ready and it looked great. We had a room with sea view. We were immediately offered a beer on arrival and in the evening the host prepared fresh fish, shrimps, chips and rice for us. One of the best dishes we've had in Sri Lanka. The accommodation is located directly at sea, so you have a lot of peace here. The host is very helpful and will make your stay comfortable.

This is a wonderful place to stay; fantastic if you are on a budget and understand the facilities are basic. There is electricity, warm water and a comfortable bed...in a fabulous location with fabulous hosts. You will see an array of wildlife (porcupine, bats, crocs, elephants and exotic birds). Danoushka and Anousha were warm, welcoming and kind. We loved our stay here and felt part of nature. Anousha cooks delicious Sri Lankan food and Danoushka is knowledgeable about the local area; We went on a tuk tuk drive with him to see various temples and sites of historic importance - a highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka. My husband also did an early morning bird spotting safari on the back of a motor bike which enabled him to take some close shots of the abundant bird life. Jungle cabin gave us the experience of "real" Sri Lanka and, as a middle aged couple, it was an absolute pleasure to spend time with the hosts and enjoy their home. We would not hesitate to recommend this as a rustic place to stay...make the most of Danoushka's local and wildlife knowledge and...enjoy the tranquility.

The hotel is run by a wonderful family. The owner is very helpful, doing everything himself, from garden maintenance to delicious lunches and dinners. The host organized a safari tour for us upon arrival, got up early in the morning, set off and served breakfast. I really want to wish such people success. The location is great, quiet and peaceful, you can walk to the town center and the ocean. Great pool with sun loungers.

Excellent accomodation! Before our travels, we got contacted by tharindu who helped in providing bus schedules to arrive to the accomodation, as well as arranged a safari with hotel pick up for us. On check-in we were greeted by the very helpful and nice hostess! She woke up early to prepare coffee for us before heading to Yala safari, and also prepared us a small breakfast on our return. Also arranged tuk tuk ride to the nearest bus station on our check out. One of the best accomodations we visited in Sri Lanka, with hot water, spacious bedroom and nice river view from terrace. Would definitely recommend!!

The host is just an amazing person (he is doing everything so you feel comfortable), even when we left he still was helping us with different advices. We arranged Safari in Yala from the hotel, and a nice snack and water was prepared for us. The room is in the house of the host, but very clean and comfortable and it was calm. The breakfast was amazing and the host brought us with his tuk tuk for a dinner in the city. We stayed only one night but definitely recommend for others.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the wonderful hosts, who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. They spent time helping us plan our trip, offering invaluable advice about exploring Sri Lanka. Their two daughters and their playful kitten were the sweetest addition, making our stay even more special. The tree house is tucked away in a peaceful village, overlooking a breathtaking lake teeming with wildlife. We loved waking up to the sounds of birds and spotting turtles swimming by. The tranquility and beauty of the setting offered a truly authentic Sri Lankan experience. The home-cooked meals were simply divine—so delicious and served in generous portions! They also offer a selection of juices. Our room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable too. It is clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining the rooms and making guests feel at home. One highlight of our stay was the Yala Safari with Janaka Safari. This is also a family business and the hosts can help organise. We highly recommend this company.

the room is very nice. Big and clean, good Wi-Fi friendly staff, sometimes too friendly :) if you want to have dinner or lunch, plan it in advance since cooking takes around 1h-1,5h I think it would be good to add eggs for breakfast
