Beautiful location, the views are outstanding. Rangala House feels like home, not a hotel. All the staff are very attentive, kind and considerate. I had the place to myself, along with Anthony, the lovely owner, due to cancellations following the cyclone. He is very engaging and we shared some deep conversations over dinner. The guide Niro (now known as Niro the hero!) and I hiked The Knuckles, we were the first to summit following the cyclone. It was cloudy and rainy but an excellent hike. We saw some fauna and flora which Niro had lots of interesting facts to impart. Throughly recommend visiting Rangala House. The people here are wonderful!

We loved this accommodation. Located in Rangala and not far from the Knuckles Mountain Range, our room had a fantastic mountain view. The room was spacious and clean and the owner was very welcoming. There is a beer house downstairs which was a great way to meet some of the locals. The food we had for dinner and breakfast was excellent.

Stayed 1 night at this magical place and wish we had more time to enjoy this amazing property. We really wanted to fit in a round of golf before leaving Sri Lanka and were very lucky to have spent the night at Bougainvillea Retreat, who very kindly offered us a late checkout as we were flying out in the middle of the night, which meant we had time for 18 holes on our last day, we loved absolutely everything, the food was spectacular. Chef met us on arrival and discussed food preferences and so tailored the menu to our liking. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, both served on the terrace with magnificent views of the mountains and reservoir. Our room was comfortable, well appointed, spacious and again with stunning views of the surroundings Service was welcoming, warm, above and beyond, even with so little time, our laundry was washed, and ironed in 24 hours. The property and grounds are well kept and probably the cleanest we have experienced on our trip! Our only regret is that we had so little time here. We hope to visit again. Thank you to the staff and of course every precious pet too for a thoroughly (albeit short) enjoyable stay

This place is stunningly beautiful! It's an oasis of tranquility and wellness very close to the city centre. As soon as you walk in you will be overwhelmed by the amazing artwork and the amazing style of the villa. Didn't find anything comparable to this hidden gem! It's just next level. Our stay at Kandy Lotus Chalet was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, the manager and housekeeper made us feel so welcome, always ready to help and offering great recommendations for places to visit. The breakfast was outstanding—we had a Sri Lankan breakfast, which was both delicious and generous in portion. It was the perfect start to our days in Kandy. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully lit, offering a comfortable and relaxing ambiance. The bathroom was also large, stocked with all necessary toiletries and fresh towels. Everything was spotlessly clean, making the entire stay feel luxurious, yet at an incredibly affordable price. One of the most thoughtful touches was that the housekeeper waited for us both nights we stayed, ensuring we were comfortable. The manager continuously checked in to make sure we had the best Sri Lankan experience, and we highly recommend following his suggestions to make the most of your time in Kandy. With no hidden costs and exceptional service, Kandy Lotus Chalet truly exceeded our expectations. You get so much for what you pay, making it a must-stay in Kandy. Highly recommended—5 stars!
