We've been in some pretty good places in Sri Lanka, but this one was definitely the cleanest and most well-maintained. Large rooms, plenty of space around, terraces, a swimming pool... the water in the pool was fantastic. And it was right next to the rainforest and bus station. You can actually watch different species of birds from the swimming pool.. The meals were excellent, different every day. Everything was perfect.

We stayed here for two nights, doing a guided tour in between. It was a super good stay. Usually, the owner himself does the guided tour. In our case, he was already booked, so his father guided us. He was a great guide, with a lot of love for the forest and a lot of knowledge after guiding people around for already over 20 years. After the tour, we had delicious food, served at the new guesthouse of the owners brother (Wildlife Kingdom, we did not sleep there but it looked also very comfortable with a great view). All other meals were also prepared by the owners wife, and after spending two weeks in Sri Lanka we can say that that was the best food we have had so far! We stayed on the top floor, which was very comfortable. Of course, being close to nature means there will be insects, so be prepared for that ;) Thank you for hosting us!

Really liked our stay here. Spacious apartment on a hill. We had complimentary tea over sunset and a generous breakfast spread of assorted fruits, toast and omelette. I slept really well! We didn't go with their Sinharaja tour, but learnt that the host's family were one of the pioneer guides for the rainforest. The host still kept the first book of past patron's comments since 1995! Would have loved to stay for a few more nights for the serenity and warm hospitality. Maybe next time! 😉

Everything is great. Mr. Bandula, the owner, who is truly exceptional and a respected figure in Deniyaya town. If your plans include staying in Deniyaya for the purpose of exploring Sinharaja, he is undoubtedly the best and coolest guide out there who knows every single inch of Sinharaja. Their warm hospitality, home made food and the cozy atmosphere at Eco Villa truly make it feel like a home away from home. Highly recommended.

Staying here was an amazing experience! It is right by the forest so the views are one of a kind. Staff are very friendly. This accomodation also offered a guided trek in the forest, which included lunch and leech socks.

Our stay at Sinharaja Forest Lodge was truly relaxing. The lodge is surrounded by lush tea plantations and beautiful greenery, making it a perfect escape into nature. We've accommodated in hotel sanctuary last week. It was very clean and attractive.The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and well organized.The pool area was fantastic, to have fun.The hotel keeper was very friendly and helpful.The hotel owner was the same. The meals were really delicious.We could enjoy the scenic beauty of rakwana mountains right from the hotel.That accomodation package was very reasonable for the payed price.I recommend this place for people, who are expecting a perfect stay near Rakwana.
