I had such a lovely stay! The family are so sweet and welcoming. I was sick for some of the stay and they made me a herbal tea to help. The food is amazing and the place was clean too. The garden is beautiful and there is a seated area next to the room where you can watch the birds and monkeys. Lots of frogs and squirrels too. Plus the surrounding area is amazing and the house is located near rice paddies and a river with waterfalls. Gihan took me on a guided tour to the rainforest and was so knowledgeable about the rainforest and its wildlife. It was so nice to meet some other guides and see people so dedicated to wildlife and conservation. Overall such a lovely stay and I learnt a lot! Thanks so much!!

If you want a 5 star resort, this is not your place! If you want a river view with birds, a friendly chef/manager and a clean, basic stay- stay here! Fan, air conditioning and a clean room with hot water. No other people were staying; this suited us as we could enjoy the view, birds and relax. The boys organised cold beer for us- ask the price, give them the $ and you have beer. Overall, a great place in a secluded spot. There might be water on the floor after a shower but this. Dies overnight. If this sounds great, go for it! The more expensive places are probably similar but we could have stayed have stayed longer. Thanks to Chef, Manager Akila. Very good spotter of birds and a friendly person with lots of local knowledge.

Beautiful accomodation in the jungle. Very spacious (including a little living room with table, chairs and sofa), plus a great view of the river. The owner is a super guide (he will spot you a bug on a leaf and he knows his birds).

Such a wonderful spot. Beautiful area and excellent service. Everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and had a gorgeous view!! They organised a tour for us in the rainforest with Achi which was such a lovely experience. This stay was definitely a highlight of our time in Sri Lanka.

If your plans include staying in Deniyaya for the purpose of exploring Sinharaja, he is undoubtedly the best and coolest guide out there who knows every single inch of Sinharaja. Their warm hospitality, home made food and the cozy atmosphere at Eco Villa truly make it feel like a home away from home. Highly recommended.
