The location is unique in its closeness to nature (the entrance to Sinharaja Rainforest just a 10-min walk by foot) and at the same time being very fresh and modern built, with everything necessary available in the room. Stunning view on the river and the opposite-laying tea hills and jungles directly from the terrace; peacocks walk freely on the property. Overall, a nice place to stay, and a very friendly personnel.

We enjoyed our stay at Sinharaja Rest very much. Maps may not for some reasons show the exact directions as there is a newer road uphill that one should take to reach the place. Relying on map directions we ended knocking on the neighbours' door but they kindly showed us the right direction : ) The place is an excellent starting point for a rainforest tour. The host organized a six hour rainforest tour for us and also took us to the bus station when we left, so we were very well looked after. The rainforest tour was awesome! We saw lots of birds, some monkeys and some snakes and our guide was very knowledgeable. Special care should be taken to keep leeches off as they are hungry and crawl faster than you might imagine. We were provided leech socks by the host that kept most of them away, but I still donated some blood to a couple of leeches. It may be a good idea to take some adhesive bandages with you to stop the bleeding. Sinharaja Rest is located at the edge of the village, so one can sit on the terrace and absorb the village sounds and listen to birds singing. What an experience. The room was beautiful and perfect for the three of us. The bathroom felt very luxury and the shower was very good. The family prepared a lovely dinner of curries for us which was one of the best curries we have had. The breakfast was also lovely and we all left very full of food. The rainforest tour was amazing and swimming under a waterfall was a real highlight. This trip is a must

We had a wonderful stay at this homestay in the Sri Lankan rainforest. The host and his whole family were incredibly kind and helpful, and they made us feel very welcome. The homemade food was delicious and freshly prepared every day. Our room was spacious and clean. The rainforest tour was a highlight – we learned and saw so much, and the guides passion and knowledge made the experience truly unforgettable. We can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and warm experience in Sri Lanka.

The place was incredible, one of our favourites stays in Sri Lanka. They were very flexible with us with the tor schedule (because we only had one day to did it) and very fair with the prices. The room was very clean and the swimming pool amazing!

We've accommodated in hotel sanctuary last week. It was very clean and attractive.The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and well organized.The pool area was fantastic, to have fun.The hotel keeper was very friendly and helpful.The hotel owner was the same. The meals were really delicious.We could enjoy the scenic beauty of rakwana mountains right from the hotel.That accomodation package was very reasonable for the payed price.I recommend this place for people, who are expecting a perfect stay near Rakwana.
