Everything was perfect! Staff were amazing, the room and facilities not to mention a free breakfast ! They have just about everything you may need as a traveller and more aswell which is super handy and amazing! They hold an intercultural party in the hotel twice a week where everyone from the guesthouse is invited aswell as a few Kyoto locals, sitting around with sake and snacks and chatting to people from all over the world and learning from locals was the highlight of my trip! The Lady who runs the house is also incredibly kind and speaks English very well so I had no trouble with communication. The location is also fantastic, a little ways away from Kyoto station but easy enough to get to with a taxi or bus! There is a convenience store in a 5 minute range, plenty of cafes and restaurants, Kiyomizu Dera is only a 10 minute walk away with much of the more famous areas of Kyoto within a 20 minute radius!

Really clean with lovely decor, good facilities and Wifi. Traditional Japanese breakfast can be served if you wish. Beds were very cosy and comfortable with curtains for privacy. The accommodation doesn’t hold a lot of people so you get to know almost everyone if you stay a few days which made it feel like a home away from home. A massive thank-you to Ikumi and Toni who made staying here so wonderful. They’re happy to share their recommendations for food and sightseeing, which were all great. I loved the fact that most eateries they suggested were local spots so not touristy at all. They’re really friendly and warm people and I couldn’t ask for anything more from them as hosts.

We truly loved this accommodation and we felt very well there. The apartment is located in a quiet zone, close to a Lawson Supermarket and to the public transport. It has all necessary items for a stay. The staff was kind. Therefore, we recommend the Family Inn Kei to all persons wanting to visit Kyoto.
