Great location, very friendly people, clean rooms. Less then 10 minutes walking distance from the main Market. The quest house has a great garden, its family run. Every room has its own bathroom and hot water all day. Great deal !

I have travelled all over the world, visited many many cities and stayed in all kinds of hotels. Generally I don't write reviews for hotels as I find them mostly fine, though nothing extraordinary to write about. However, I feel compelled to write a review for Rock Castle Residency of Leh due to the exceptional hospitality of the hosts. The room we got was fine - spacious, clean, and with a large comfortable bed. The balcony of the room had a superb view of the neighbouring hill and of the mountains further away. The guest house had a cute dining hall where the chef's dishes are very much like home cooked food - simple, fresh, tasty. But what delighted us most about the place were the gracious, warmhearted and helpful hosts. Family run and managed by individuals including Rigzin, Nordom and Prince, we felt absolutely at home during our stay. In fact, we had issues with acclimatizing for 3 days, and I had to take oxygen support during the nights. Rigzin and team helped us with everything, and without any hesitation accomodated our requests for extending our stay in Leh and then also cancelling the remaining stay without penalties when we decided to bail out and return to Delhi. They fed us delicious meals made from vegetables grown in their own garden, and even brought tea and meals to our room (against their house policy) when I was not feeling well. We weren't able to explore Ladakh fully this time, but if I ever come back to Leh I would most definitely stay at Rock Castle Residency only.

Staying at the Sponbo Guest House was one of the most memorable parts of my Ladakh trip. What truly set this place apart was the incredible opportunity to interact with the owner, who generously took the time to explain the rich cultural and traditional aspects of Ladakh in detail. Our conversations went far beyond what you could ever find on Google or YouTube. Through his stories, knowledge, and personal insights, I gained a much deeper understanding of the Ladakhi way of life — from local customs and festivals to the unique history, beliefs, and values of the region. It felt like I was experiencing the soul of Ladakh, not just visiting it. This sweet Guest House experience is unlike staying at a hotel, where interaction with the owner is rare or nonexistent. I earlier booked a luxury hotel in Leh but then compelled to chose this Guest House by seeing it’s amazing reviews. Here, the warmth and hospitality made me feel more like a guest in someone’s home than a tourist. It’s these personal touches and cultural exchanges that made the stay truly special and unforgettable. I would definitely recommend Sponbo 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
