We spent Christmas here and we couldn't have picked a better place. Even before we arrived Lily and the gang made it easy by picking us up in Parapet. The lodge is new and comfortable with big rooms, fan and a wunderful view over the rice fields. All food was very good. Lily and Ishako arranged all our hikings as to our request and we loved it. And they were all so very welcoming and invited us to join with their friends Christmas party. This was one of our best stays in Indonesia. We can highly recommend everybody to stay here. We loved it, thank you, Lily & Ishako & Osaka!

I really enjoyed my stay here. It is a comfy and very convenient guesthouse. The staff is really kind and helpfull. They also organize great trekking tours to the jungle. And the location of the guest house is great. Right next to the river. From the terasse you can look down on the river and enjoy the village life.

The restaurant inside the lodge was very good, the food was super tasty. Good location for starting a orangutan trekking!

We had an amazing stay at Batu Kapal Guest House! Bayu, Aji and the boys really made us feel at home. The location is truly beautiful, in the jungle with a nice river for swimming. The last day, there were even 3 orangutans in de trees just behind our room! The food was also great, we even got a small cooking class because we liked the BBQ chicken so much :) We will miss this place and hopefully we can come back one time!

Lovely spacious rooms with gorgeous balcony and view. Rooms were very clean with flushing toilets! Easy walk into town where there’s lots of restaurants and a supermarket. The owner and staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. We felt very safe and welcome here. They cooked us lovely banana pancakes for breakfast and a lovely lunch.

Nicely located in rice fields and with fish ponds. Bayu is an excellent host. He organized everything (airport transfer, overland tour to Lake Toba, jungle trekking) very well. We would like to emphasize the lovely, experienced and super-supportive jungle trek team with Jajang, Dony and Henry. While Janang is very knowledgeable and showed us 7 Orang Utans, some Thomas Leaf‘s Monkeys and Brown-handed Gibbons, Dony and Herny, did everything to take my almost blind wife by their hands and guided her 6 hours through the jungle. They paid as much attention, that she did not stumble and fall. Bayu recommended to skip going south to Bukkitinggi and Padang in rainy saison and consider visiting Pulau Weh/Sabang. We followed his recommendation and it was an unique experience! Terima Kasih Bayu!

Yanta, the manager, made sure everything ran smoothly. Aca, the founder and soul of the project, is an inspiring man who has purchased 100 hectares of jungle outside the national park, in order to protect it from deforestation and the aggressive expansion of palm oil companies. Rama and the rest of the team were always smiling, kind, and ready to help with anything. This place is truly one of a kind. No pollution, no stress — just pure peace and a deep energy that you can only find in places like this. We recommend this hotel to anyone seeking an authentic, life-changing experience deeply connected to nature. It’s not just a trip — it’s a gift for the soul.
