Esther was an amazing host! Helped out with a spider. beautiful surroundings in the forest and really nice food. it’s out of town, so you need a taxi, but we loved the location. Saw 6 toucans and so many hummungbirds

La Chonta is an incredibly special place. It is such a beautiful space immersed in nature. We saw Toucans, parrots and so many other birds from the balcony. It was nice staying a bit out of town in nature. There is so much to do around Mindo, I wish we had more time. When we arrived, Andres was our host, but leaving as a friend. He joined us on morning walks, showed us great places to eat, and we shared many stories along the way. Thank you for everything and we cannot wait to come back. I recommend La Chonta as one of the best places we have stayed anywhere. Don't think, just book.

Our room was fantastic we had beautiful views from our balcony. We spotted lots of birds from there including Tucans. We didn't want to leave we had room 5 with 5 star views! The common areas were beautiful and a lot of thought had gone into making it a relaxing place to be. Even a hammock placed so you could lie and watch the humming birds come to feed. Very helpful staff,fast and reasonable laundry service. Quite a young crowd but as an older couple we found that not to be a problem and a pleasant friendly vibe. Best place we have stayed so far on our trip to Ecuador.

The owner was so lovely, she even made us a cake! Great location, right in town and super close to everything. Rooms were big and very clean. Kitchen with fridge, cooking facilities, microwave and coffee machine. Fast wifi. The artwork throughout the building is beautiful and there’s several common areas to relax. Our favourite part was the owner and her dog Linda
