Guest Houses in Puerto Jiménez

It is a wonderful place. Macaws in the almond tree, parrots arriving and departing (always with a great party :)), a wonderful garden, 2 really cute cats. We really loved it there. Beach, Supermarket and restaurant are walking distance. A perfect place to start a Corcovado tour as well. Lubna was on holiday when we arrived, but she managed everything from the distance. We had the place for us own, its a shared kitchen and bathroom. Be sure you have money with you, it was not possible to pay the room with credit card.

My girlfriend and me had three wonderful days here. This cute little hut is located right in the cozy village of Doz Brazos. Nature is all around around you: If you like that (and don’t mind seeing one or the other bug), you’ll love this place. Animals we saw and heard were chickens, cows, lots of cute dogs and even a Tucan in the distance! And regularly, some hummingbirds visited us while we had breakfast on the terrace. The house itself has a kitchen and a semi-open structure. The walls for example don’t go all the way up, which probably helped the airflow & was the reason why we could sleep without a fan. There were fans in our bedroom & the main room. Our bedroom was lockable from the inside, the other bedroom had a curtain instead of a door, but that would’ve been fine for us as well. Honestly speaking, we were a bit skeptical upon our arrival. But this skepticism quickly went away due to these factors: First of all, because of our hosts. The family lives right next to the hut and was super welcoming, nice and helpful. During our first breakfast, they even brought us a nice welcoming snack! With all the kindness, they still left us plenty of privacy. Another reason were our temporary “flatmates“, another couple that came for a day and moved into the room with the curtain. They were very kind as well & we had some nice conversations on the terrace. Last but definitely not least is the initial reason why we booked this place: Access to the Bolita rainforest trails. Since the owners work at the Bolita rainforest hostel, free access (without any guides) to these beautiful hiking trails through the jungle was granted. Though I imagine, we would’ve seen more animals if we had an Costa Rican with eagle eyes with us! Luckily, Carlos, one of the owners, offers guidance (only Spanish though). Very soon, we felt very comfortable and happy to be in such a remote, authentic & beautiful place (just check out the garden photos!) with so many nice people.

We stayed two nights at the location and it was very pleasent. The room was simple and clean. We slept well with AC and used the kitchen for cooking. It had everything we needed. The porch is cosy and we saw two Aras in the garden and plenty of other birds. We also did a two day tour with Kerley to la Sirena. It was an exceptional experience in the national park. He is a great guy and a very good gide. He is really pationate about his job and it was very nice talking wih him. We highly recommend staying and doing a tour with him. Awesome location close to Corcovado national park so a lot of animals literally in the garden. Very friendly hosts who offer interesting tours and helped with everything like bus times or where to go next. We planned to stay only 1 night and because we liked it so much we ended up returning and staying 6 nights and doing a lot of tours. Calm place, well equipped kitchen, cozy A-frame house with relaxing noise from a flowing river behind it. The only problem we had was the 99% humidity which makes it impossible to dry clothes after washing. There is a laundry service in the town which turned out to be well invested money. Otherwise definitely the best place we stayed so far in almost 2 months costa rica and we will definitely try to return here. We felt very close to the nature and the country also because we learned a lot about the life in CR, animals, trees and plants and also about the history of the place from Suzanna and Channi. Because of his commitment I saw my first terciopelo during the night tour which was an awesome encounter. Thanks again and we are hoping to see you two again!

Amazing place in amazing Pavones. Owner prepared for us best pasta ever. We had a great time here! We had room nr.1 it was private and calm place. Near was tree with a lot of Ara.

Wonderful location in a small village approx 4km from La Palma. Nice home built accomodtion in the garden of Louis the talented craftsman. Near to river and national park.
