This place is fantastic! Highly recommend it. Sylvio is a great host, and very attentive. The pool was ideal with our kids 5+9 years. Good to know that the restaurant is temporarily closed but will open again in a couple of months. This was no issue for us, as we enjoyed the communal kitchen very much!

Well designed, bright, spacious rooms, with both a purified water dispenser and coffee machine. Lovey individual sitting area/deck with comfortable furniture outside each room. Restaurant was excellent. Especially liked the deck overlooking the sea. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

the owner was accomodating :), we were the only people staying there so we had the shared patio to ourselves. it was close enough to everything. Just to be aware, the container means the room is literally inside of the "shipping container" which is a pretty cool concept if you are up for it ;)

We loved staying in Smile Jungle Hostel, from the first minute to the last. Gonzalo is an amazing host and this was our favourite accommodation in Central America. You feel right at home because everything you could possibly need is available and Gonzalo is always so warm and positive. We really enjoyed our stay a lot. We had a beautiful little house near the river, with a hot shower and a comfortable bed, also an extra living room and a little kitchen. Could see monkeys and sloths, agutis and a lot of other different wildlife from our terrace. Free water, laundry and kayaks. Everything was really clean and only 5 min walk to the beach. Helped us with everything we needed. A tuktuk to puerto viejo takes about 10 mins. Everyone was really friendly we would def come again.

Brigitte is amazing, her ranch is full of animals including a sloth. we also had a beautiful horse ride and a demonstration of chocolate production (chocholate tour) the house with two rooms and a hot tub was amazing and in the middle of Costa Rican nature.
