Lovely family! The experience of staying in a family home in such an isolated village in the heart of the mountains is amazing. No English so we used Google translate and mime and lots of smiles! They speak Azeri and the local village language. I am vegetarian and the food was excellent (lentil soup, fried potatoes, fresh vegetables, plov rice, etc.. Plus meat if you want it). And the lovely wife made me a cake for my birthday! So kind (and delicious). We walked to the next village (2-3 hours each way on a very easy path) and walked up into the hills and down to the river. Dramatic scenery. And we found a beer in the local tiny shop! Super clean outhouse squat toilet (bring your own toilet paper) and hot shower. Lumpy beds but you can easily just put a mattress on the floor. A bit chilly in our bedroom so bring your warm jersey. Bonus: Wifi and mobile data available. Fully recommend. Thank you!

This home stay was such a great experience, sharing meal times with the family was a highlight. they also arranged very reasonable pickups and drops offs in Quba.

Visited Henaliq in December and was the only guest It was the most .memorable and delightful part of the trip. Don't expect any luxuries but do expect genuine hospitality, home cooking, cracling wood stove and a lot of hot tea. The village and surrounding mountains are spectacular.

We absolutely loved our stay. The owner was really helpful and entertaining. We arrived before midnight and he prepared tea for us and stayed to talk with us (he speaks good english). Breakfast was also really nice.
