I booked a 3 night stay at De Kuilen Nature Reserve to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday. What a memorable stay and celebration. The weather wasn't great which made our stay even better. The Springbok House has a cozy fire place that warms up the entire place. Don't bother packing anything, the house was fully equipped - right down to a Potjie pot. If I can give you one tip, follow Matimba's directions to the T. We got a bit lost (entirely our own fault) but superhero Matimba checked in with us multiple times and guided us back on track. I have never had such a friendly and relieved face greet me! Down to Matimba. This man plays so many roles, Reserve Manager, Ranger, Host, Guide, Photographer and the list goes on. We had the honor of going on a game drive with Matimba - what a Blessed drive! To see the love and passion for wildlife in Matimba's eyes is truly something special. I strongly believe Matimba's compassion, warmth and friendly welcome made our stay worth more than words can explain. Well done to you Sir Matimba!

Featuring a terrace with views of the nearby lake and Outeniqua Mountains, this tent comes with a seating area, refrigerator and electric kettle. The wood-panelled bathroom includes a spa bath and free toiletries. The tents are just amazing. It was our second time there. The ice-cream they sell is the best in the whole world. Their baby cows are so cute. The bubble bath is just to die for - really so wonderful. I would come back here again!

Includes game drives for half and full board bookings. These twin tents are located within an eco-friendly bush camp, set in a valley in the heart of the game reserve. Each of the tents is on raised platforms, and have their own covered deck area and private bathroom. All meals are provided in the communal recreational which includes a kitchen, lounge, working computer station, and indoor and outdoor dining. We stayed at Eco Camp, this means that you sleep inside a tent, comfortable but suitable to more warm temperature, than it was during our accommodation. It was cold for us but tolerable. The main attraction was daily driving with Qiu (hope that pronunciation is right) with an aim to find "any animal that moves". And we found almost all of them... And we eat three times a day (too much). The food was excellent, thanks to a chef. The atmosphere in the camp was very friendly, The fynbos is marvelous. marvelous. Very nice experience.
