The three tents are stunning, extremely comfortable, and beautifully decorated — much cozier than the larger nearby camp. Loay, our host, was amazing: he showed us around, picked us up, and made our experience truly unforgettable. Each tent has electricity for charging, lights, a solar shower, and a fan. The mattress was super comfortable. The camp is perfectly located up on the dune, not down by the road (on booking.com shown) the best spot in the middle of nowhere. Breakfast was delicious at the large camp next door, though it wasn’t as cozy as this one. A perfect desert stay!

Incredible experience overall Note for people dealing with allergies, skin conditions, or are immunocompromised: we confirm this establishment is adequate, due to its cleanliness and the adaptability of the staff. The water is a little chlorinated, so just bring plenty of fresh filtered water for hygiene.

Dinner and breakfast are included in the price, both are buffet style, delicious and can accommodate vegetarians as well.

Adventurer Camp is offering accommodation in Al Wāşil. There is a restaurant serving Middle Eastern cuisine, and free private parking is available. We loved that we had are own driver. The facilities were what we were looking for - not spartan, but not so luxurious you didn’t think you were in the desert. Very comfortable and we liked the porch on our cabin and that you could have an opening to see stars. The bonfire was one of the highlights - eating a Bedouin desert and drinking tea. The staff is so kind and gracious.

If you are looking for a full immersion in the Bedouins' traditions, the Authentic Desert Camp hosted by Saeed is the best experience you could find in Oman desert ! From Omani hospitality to traditional dancing demonstrations, through a full tour of the desert, meet up with camels roaming around, we felt so comfortable with Saeed, who shared with passion all his knowledge with us. Authentic food was served as well, including traditional Omani dishes and fresh grills, including traditional bread cooking in the fire. It was an amazing experience, totally adapted for kids, group of friends and families!

The luxury tent has a picnic area where you can spend a day out in the open. Look no further than Desert Stars for a lovely great value desert trip. It is a comfortable small camp with only 10 tents and really welcoming hosts. Each tent has its own bathroom. There is a nice dining tent with buffet dinner included and a substantial breakfast with eggs and beans stew. We sat around the fire in the evening after dinner and watched the stars. I went on a sunset camel ride which was magical, and had a fantastic half-day safari into the dunes with Ahmed, who is a highly skilled driver and great guide. I saw baby camels, foxes and lizards and ended with a bedu lunch. Communication was smooth with the host by WhatsApp in advance, I arranged a transfer as I had a small car which was also smooth. Highly recommend!

His camp, Thousand Stars Desert, is simply a ten out of ten. Located deep within the Wahiba (Sharqiya) Sands, surrounded by untouched dunes, it offers only two fully equipped tents, which makes the experience truly exclusive. The fact that there are only two rooms transforms the place into something unique and deeply personal. I can’t imagine traveling all the way to the desert to be surrounded by tourists. Here, it’s just you – alone with the desert, or perhaps sharing it with one other lucky guest. My tent had a huge, incredibly comfortable double bed – as good as, or even better than, any five-star hotel. The interior felt completely cozy and inviting. At night, the temperature drops, but Ali has thought of everything: the bedding is perfect, and nothing is missing. The bathroom is just a few steps away, fully equipped and spotless – shower, toilet, bidet, mirror, toiletries – everything works perfectly. You genuinely feel at home, and then you realize: I’m in the middle of an immense desert! Next to the tent, there’s a raised platform – a sort of private viewpoint – with soft mattresses and cushions where you can lie down and watch the end of the sunset. For the beginning of it, you should climb the dunes themselves. The views are breathtaking: you can watch the wind slowly shape the sand, and later, under the night sky, a dazzling display of stars appears in complete clarity. Camels wander nearby, their silhouettes visible on the horizon at sunset or dawn – curious and gentle presences that complete the scene. When night falls, torches are lit throughout the camp, guiding your way.
