This is an exceptional place. The nature experience is unparalleled for self drive/self catering.

What an amazing place, to be able to stay in the middle of Kruger on a river bed, is an absolutely amazing experience! The game drives and bush walk were absolutely amazing and the guides were super knowledgeable and professional (the best safaris we had in all of Kruger). Food was really good as well and all the staff was super friendly and helpful! The glamping adds to the whole experience and then being able to dip in the pool in between game drives is surreal. Needless to say, we didn't want to leave.

Conveniently located inside the park, with restaurant within walking distance. Staff was helpful with check-in. Air conditioning in the tents was very appreciated. Towels provided. Shared bathroom and shower facilities. Mini kitchenette (outdoors and under canvas) available, as well as larger kitchen areas (common).

The tented accommodation was SO comfortable private and atmospheric. Wonderful facilities, shower etc and just a short walk to the dining/ bar. Also 2 swimming pools both lovely. The package we took included a safari daily, accom and meals. The food was excellent, the chef went to endless trouble to offer delicious and interesting meals every day. Transfers were excellent, on time and efficient. We also took the Panorama Tour which gave us a look at the fabulous scenery and geographic marvels of the area.

We had an amazing three-night stay at Umkumbe bush Lodge. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. As there are only a few tents, they get to know your name and preferences and it feels like a home away from home. The accommodation is super clean, comfortable and exactly what you need for your visit. The common area had a wonderful pool and bar, where you can watch the wildlife pass by as you relax and unwind. The game drives start early in the morning, and it can be cold, but you are provided with warm fleece blankets as well as ponchos for when it rains. Both our guides (Pieter and Capps ) are very knowledgeable and good fun - they really look after us and engaged in conversation while on drives sharing their passion for the area. The coffee and drink stops were a highlight as well. We cannot rate this place highly enough and hope to return sometime in the future, l Thank you to everyone at Umkumbe for making this such a memorable experience and making us feel like more than just guests. Your personal touches did not go unnoticed

Beautiful luxury tent. Walking safari was unique and wonderful experience, make sure your fitness level is good. Otherwise it can be quite tiring.
