The most beautiful and serene little glamping with one of the most hospitable hosts we’ve encountered in Sri Lanka yet - Samitha. Not only is he an excellent cook, he also took us on a boat trip, organised morning safari and took care of everything in between - whether it’s an extra blanket or tea. A great place to stay in a peaceful environment. There is a beautiful river view in front of the rooms and the sound of birds is very sweet throughout the day. The host is very welcoming. He arranges everything you need. Clean rooms with all amenities. If you are visiting Udawalawe, don't miss this.

Really enjoyed our too short stay here. It is a bit off the beaten track but the nature and the scenery make up for it. Our morning safari was awe inspiring. The tents are comfortable, the food excellent and the staff could not care for you any better.

Beautiful large site. Two pools. Comfy pillows and bed. Nice size room. Wonderful private jeep safari by Kottawatta - the driver was a fantastic guide. Grounds staff and restaurant staff were so friendly. Staff will haul luggage to and from rooms. Easily able to park our tuk tuk. Breakfast buffet is fairly extensive.

Athgira River Camp is located at the door step of Udawalawe National Park with views of Rakwana River. It’s very close to Udawalawe reservoir and to the Elephant Orphanage.

Superb glamping tent set up. Very luxurious and comfortable. It was huge! With two separate bedrooms and a little seating area in the front, very well furnished and exceptionally clean. Staff were incredible and very helpful, right from the moment we arrived they couldn’t do enough to help us and were extremely polite and respectful. The meals were exceptional and seemed to be conjured up from nowhere! They were served under the stars for dinner around a beautiful fire, which was so special. Then there was the safari itself, it was so magical seeing herds of elephants and their babies. Our guide and driver were so motivated to ensure we had an excellent experience and stopped at nothing to ensure this happened.

Unique location , great safari . If you go you need to ring them from the main road so they can pick you up in their 4x4 safari jeep . It’s nothing like camping … shower toilet en-suite , electrics and big comfy bed . Staff attentive . Our Safari driver was very knowledgeable . Thank you
