Glamping Sites in Kataragama

It seems like we are in the forest when we lived in leopard camp.monkeys jump on the trees,the peacock calls from time to time,butterfly always flying around us.it's like a fairtale world. Staffs are all hospitable and helpful,thinking ahead of us. The bed is dry and comfortable. It has to be appreciated the safari.That is a amazing trip.guided actually professional,we recognized many birds,saw the leopard as we wished. All in all,the leopard camp is valuable camp in Yala.

The entire team of staff were absolute stars! They messaged us ahead of check in for some final arrangements. Upon arrival, the check-in was quick and the brief was easy to comprehend. We checked in at 3pm and got to do the complementary afternoon bush walk with Malik (and the other kind gentleman I forgot his name). The tent and the surroundings were clean. I loved the sustainability concept. Water is available in a dispenser at reception and the room water bottles are made of glass. Tea and coffee with milk were also free anytime of the day. The playgrounds were nice and big and a couple of kids played cricket freely. They have lockers at the reception to keep your valuables. Again at 9 pm, we went for another complementary bush walk where we saw tarantulas and other nocturnal insects and birds. In the morning, we went for a safari but didn't know that it would extend slightly past the checkout time. The duty manager was kind to us and let us pack our things in no rush. He offered tea and coffee as we waited for our tuktuk which his team ordered. Also..When we checked out, my friend had forgotten her hair clip in the tent and one kind gentleman (one of the housekeeping staff I presume) ran after our tuk tuk to give it to us :) I recommend this place to everyone for an authentic camp experience!!

The camp is beautifully located just outside the Yala national park. Tents were cosy and safe. The staff was welcoming and so kind to us. Food was delicious, a lot of coconut was used. Guided safari and the bushwalk were the highlight of our stay. We learnt a lot about animals and saw some rare night birds as well. Thank you Makini for all the amazing memories. Wish you the best!

We have just had the most amazing 2 night stay at yala wild Beach huts. The owner and the team are lovely. The tents/huts are new and super comfy beds in a really quite unspoilt location. Very close to the entrance to yala national park. The food has been amazing with endless amounts of it too much food for us to eat you will never go hungry. We were offered tea and coffee and bottles of water all the time and when we went to yala and the temple tour we were given fruit, coffee, biscuits and chocolate milk for the kids. We opted to stay for 2 nights and we were glad we did as it gave us time to go on a second jeep trip to the temples and see more elephants outside the national park. Along with crocodiles and monkeys. Our driver was great and really enjoyed all the trips even going for a last minute beach trip and over the sand dunes. He went out of his way to try and find lepards for us. Roy our guide was incredible a great character who clearly loves his job and nature and his knowledge of sri lankan history is brilliant and very enjoyable to listen to. Along with morning nature walk around the camp We all agreed that this has been our favourite place in Sri Lanka on our trip and I would highly recommend a 2 night visit or longer if you have time. Going to sleep and Walking up to the sound of the birds an nature was amazing. The owner has great plans for the future of yala wild huts and its alread great and will only improve furter there is an obvious passion and love for the area and nature and to give guests an amazing experience Thanks again for an amazing experience we could not be happier and will recommend to anyone we know who is travelling to sri lanka

Staying at Podi Hoona Eco Bush Camp would likely provide a peaceful and eco-friendly experience, allowing guests to appreciate the natural surroundings and perhaps spot some of the local wildlife, including geckos, in their natural habitat. From the minute we arrived we were treated like royalty by the amazing Goshi. He is an asset to the company and certainly made our stay memorable. The tent was amazing; extremely comfortable and spacious with towels, water, AC and a fan as well as shampoo and shower gel as standard. Goshi arranged a fabulous guide to accompany us on our 2 safaris (small extra charge and well worth doing as it added a lot to the experience). The park entrance is 15 min drive from Wild Trails Yala by Suri. The safari is 4 hours for a half day safari and we were back in time for a delicious candle lit dinner. The next morning we were up and on another safari by 6am. We ate our breakfast on the safari, prepared by Goshi and his team. They were very accommodating to our children’s food likes/dislikes. We are delighted we chose Wild Trails for our safari experience. Thank you!
