Glamping Sites in Drake

Everything. If I could give it twelve out of ten I would. One of the most amazing places I have ever stayed in. I have to say the pictures don't even do it justice. The tents were amazing and so comfortable with the little plunge pool at the back as an extra gimmick. Was straight out a fairy tale. The natural swimming hole was our daily highlight after exploring Drake's bay. Olman the manager couldn't do enough for us. He organised all of our activities and made sure we were at the right place at the right time. He was there every morning at breakfast (which was delicious) to make sure we had everything we needed. Hope to come back one day and if you are thinking about staying there make sure you book an extra night as you will not want to leave.

Excellent place to stay if you want to be proximous to the nature. We highly recommend also taking a walk along the multiple beaches. Food in the evening is excellent: go for the menu.

This place has everything - top service, delicious home made food including afternoon tea, 3 private beaches, breathtaking views and incredible fauna at your door step - a puma came to check the garden when we stayed there. We were at the bungalov and loved the architecure of it and details such as 2 showers, massive wooden furniture and double hammock in front outside the door. All the guys working there will make sure you will not want to leave the place (my favourite is the lady in charge of the kitchen). There is a bit of perfection and love in everything they all do. The food plan is set perfectly and extra drinks can be bought at the bar.

A magical place made all the more so by the lovely hosts, Anouk and Kevin. We had the place all to ourselves, but even if we hadn’t it is large enough that other guests wouldn’t have bothered us. Kevin is an excellent chef and we ate well (if too much!). Great little swimming hole to cool off in. We went on an early morning boat ride on the river with Melvin - so calm and beautiful. Take advantage when it’s high tide to kayak in the mangroves. We took the car ferry across the Sierpe river and then drove - a bit bumpy but very doable. There is nothing not to like about this corner of Costa Rica.

This was the perfect lodge for someone like me who enjoys being immersed in beautiful nature. Las Caletas was recommended to me by a friend, and I am so glad I booked it. The staff was very friendly and very helpful with ensuring we enjoyed everything about our stay. Communication was great - I had some questions before I arrived in Drake Bay, and the staff always answered my emails very quickly. The breakfast and dinner meals were incredible, fresh and delicious. The chef did an amazing job creating beautiful meals. The property was beautiful, immaculate and well-maintained by the staff. There was an awesome view of the ocean. The dining room was made of beautiful wood, and attention was paid to every detail, even down to hand-painted wood keychains for the bathrooms. Every morning during breakfast, it seemed there was some new “entertainment” – a pair of scarlet macaws flying by, green parrots in a tree, hummingbirds, an iguana, a sloth! There was always something fun to watch. I booked the tent accommodation. The beds and the seating area were very comfortable. The staff did a great job of keeping our tent and bathroom clean after we returned from many sandy days snorkeling or touring Corcovado National Park. There were always fresh towels for the shower and beach, and a new sheet for the bed every day. Las Caletas seems to attract other nature lovers and we met quite a few friendly people from around the world who were also staying there, and they helped point out animals in the trees. Las Caletas is located right on the Drake Trail, and many of the days we walked to the town (1 hour walk) or other small, secluded beaches (only 10 mins away). Besides tours to Cano Island and Corcovado National Park, there are so many cool things to see just sitting on the beach or walking on the Drake Trail. Overall, I had an amazing stay here and I want to return to Las Caletas in the future!
