The property sports a irori fireplace and overall modern decor, as well as a French Restaurant and Bar called Chronicle Terrace. Japanese-style set menus are offered for breakfast. We found everything was great here, the room, the private and public hot bath; the food and the staff. The location of Ryokan Yoshidaya is excellent. It is close to the river where it has a road of sakura. We had a perfect walk in the morning and the view was absolutely gorgeous. We stayed at Worikara, a villa just a stone's throw away from its main ryokan and a perfect place for us to relax and unwind after a day's hike. We liked the breakfast and the dinner which were rich in varieties and taste. Finally, we must give credits to the staff who served us. They were friendly, helpful and patient to answer our questions. The translation system in the mobile phones they were using was perfect to break the language barrier and in fact, some of the staff who served us spoke excellent English. Our only regret was that we had no time to visit its cafe. We would definitely stay at this ryokan again when we visit Fukuoka again next year.

The staff at Ryokan Oomuraya were very nice and accommodating. The staff had a good level of English, and were very helpful with recommendations and offering information. The room was spacious and comfortable. The public bath was very nice and not crowded, and it had a view of the river. Especially nice in the morning. Also they let guests make a reservation to use the private onsen (bath) for one hour. Don't forget to try the green tea beer at the bar for a local Ureshino-style treat!
