Everything about the ryokan was excellent, from the facilities, the room, the numerous onsen, the round the clock availability to use the onsen, to the food and dining experience.

It features some Japanese-style guest rooms with tatami (woven-straw) flooring. A lot. We ended up getting a full Japanese 2-floor house, with a private outdoor onsen and a garden overlooking the nice river. I guess I wasn’t really sure what kind of room I had booked. Everything else was great, too much to mention. I at least have to mention that we especially enjoyed the private dining rooms with views on the maple leaves and the river.

Hitoyoshi Train Station is an 11-minute walk from the property. The interior space is very welcoming. Breakfast and dinner were excellent (good value). The staff was extremely friendly and warm. The location is nearby downtown area and Hitoyoshi station.

It's very peaceful and beautiful. Good for birdwatching. It's also right near the tram into the center of the city right up to the castle stop (Y180 flat rate) which is really convenient and cheap. The hotel itself is really well appointed and has 2 private and 1 public onsen which was really nice.
