The Novotal had suffered a major water leak and were unable to check us in on arrival, whilst they awaited repairs as they had no water at all. They had provided an alternative at their nearby Mercure Hotel, which we found excellent, recently refurbished, very nice rooms and a great breakfast. The managed this difficult situation exceptionally well.

Pleasantly situated facing the marina, 5 minutes from the city centre and pedestrian area, this Mercure hotel offers contemporary and elegant accommodation.

The Mercure Caen Côte de Nacre hotel is located 10 minutes from downtown Caen by tram stopping in front of the hotel and 15 minutes by car from the seaside.

We stayed in Chateau du Bu for 3 nights, and it was a perfect experience. The chateau is beautiful, quiet, and very well-maintained. The facilities of the chateau and rooms are abundant and modern. We can even enjoy Netflix for free. The salon and dining room of the chateau were cozy, and we enjoyed the sunset there. The surroundings of the chateau are really nice; such a huge and beautiful area belongs to you. Breakfast was ordered with additional cost, but it was substantial. The chateau is 10 minutes' driving distance from a town with Carrefour and restaurants.

Located in Cabourg, Hôtel les bains de Cabourg - Thalazur is set opposite the sea and offers an on-site thalassotherapy centre.
