Beautiful historic suite in a beautiful historic location, but with great modern amenities, and helpful attentive staff. We went there for our anniversary, and loved it, and would recommend it to anyone. We stayed in the Armory suite, and we loved the busts of the alchemists, the pictures of the kings of Scotland, and the steel plate armour helmets you can pick up. Not sure they are really historic though :) The restaurant is great too if you can get a reservation, but be sure to reserve early or you will miss out...

From the rooms, decor, setting and grounds to the quality of the service, food and staff, I would say a rating of 10/10 is too low. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it will go down as a special moment in our memories. And we are definitely planning to return.

Fantastic engaging staff who are genuinely interested in their guests and invested in their jobs. Next level service . Very comfortable and luxurious especially the Wallace Room . Bedrooms while a tad compact ( the hotel is a townhouse) are super comfortable and cosy . Beautiful interiors and super relaxing . We loved it .

The location is great, quiet but close to shopping, bars, food and places of interest. The hotel is unique, loved how the ships features have been incorporated to retain the authenticity. Staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they made it feel special. Extra little touches are always appreciated and Fingal gets that just right. Food on board is excellent and highly recommended. Fabulous place to stay.

The W Hotel Edinburgh is undoubtedly one of the most visually striking and modern hotels in the city. The design is sleek and contemporary, with a definite "wow" factor from the moment you walk in. The room was beautifully furnished, with all the high-tech amenities you’d expect, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The views over Edinburgh were a real highlight, especially from the rooftop bar. Service was generally excellent—friendly and attentive staff, especially at reception and in the bar. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Edinburgh, perfect for exploring both the historic and modern sides of the city. Overall, a luxurious stay that delivers on style and atmosphere.
