Probably the only place we stayed at in Malaysia that felt like a real hotel. The staff had immaculate manners and even prepared our early breakfast to take away at 5:30am due to our early flight. I didn't try their restaurants but I strongly recommend taking a little walk outside (if you can brave the traffic whizzing by you on narrow roads) and trying the local cuisine there. It was probably the best food we had on our trip to Malaysia! There is also an excellent Chinese place behind the restaurant - try the crab or the shrimp there and you'll be blown away.

A beautiful hotel, old world charm. Plenty of options with restaurants, bars within the hotel but also within walking distance. Amazing view with a fabulous pool in the heritage wing. The staff were absolutely fabulous, so friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and attention to detail is awesome. Hair salon on site was great and a tailor too was great.

From start to finish, everything was perfect, from the staff on the door, the very capable personnel at reception, the individual floor floors-and-room staff, those at the beautifully maintained pool too, the spacious and tastefully furnished rooms, the bright and airy breakfast room with its attentive service personnel, nothing beyond their capabilities, a welcoming receptionist and chef, both ready and capable of meeting and adapting to every request, all this through to help on the ground floor with directions, weather forecasts, and planning suggestions. Penang is the ultimate winner as The Millen just askd to be re-visted. We'll certainly try. Congratulations to all involved. Thank you.

First class hotel. Lots of variety for breakfast. The manager is such a wonderful person. She made it a special stay for us and helped me in taking care of my wife who was a little sick during our stay. (Her illness had nothing to do with the hotel)
