We had the absolute privilege to be the first guests to check-in at Sigiriya Cashew Palace Resort after it reopened. It is the sort of hotel that is 6 stars for the soul. The family that run it are lovely and incredibly attentive. And the rooms are massive: we had a two bedroom family apartment, which had two bathrooms and a huge kitchen/living room/diner. Breakfast was terrific each day, and the one time we had dinner in the hotel was also excellent. The swimming pool onsite as well as ad hoc experiences like roasting cashews - hence the name! - are just added bonuses. It's also incredibly well positioned for the delights of Sigiriya and the rest of the cultural triangle. Just stay here, you won't regret it. And you may regret it if you don't.

Beautiful property in a beautiful location with view over Lion’s Rock. Only 8 rooms, making the property very quiet. Rooms are very large, ours even had a plunge pool. Restaurant is on site and is very good. Staff is responsive and helpful (they booked our transfer from the airport and then onward to Kandy). Super recommended!

Great boutique property in a good location for exploring Sigirya and the surrounding areas. Lovely setting, villas were perfect. We enjoyed the views of Pidurangala rock and spent a peaceful day by the pool in between our exploring days. Breakfasts were delicious.

The accommodation was in an excellent location overlooking Lion Rock, so I could sit on the balcony and look at it while I did my reading. It is also walking distance from the Lion Rock site. The owners are very kind and helpful, giving us explanations about local customs and traditions, advice and tips, and even performing a few traditional folk songs for us at dinner. The owners also make very tasty local food, and even helped to drop me off at the bus stop when I was leaving.

Our stay was really great thanks to Isanka and his father who were really helpful. We were in sri lanka for the first time and this was our first destination so we didnt really know how to get around and they took us everywhere with their tuktuks, arranged a good massage and a safari and helped us with finding the bus to trincomalee. An amazing resort, into the jungle. We stayed in the wooden bungalow, which was a great experience. The staff really helpful in all our demands. The pool had a stunning view to Lion’s rock and Pidurangala. Great variety of food. We were on a honeymoon and they offered us a cake and some drinks. Will visit them again for sure. Keep up the great work.
