We are extremely happy to have spent two days at the Capoe house. It was better and more beautiful than we had expected. We were picked up by the Ranger and got a little private Safari tour as he’s an expert of the local animals. Everybody was extremely friendly and helpful, and we receive the warm welcome with a High Tea. Our room was spacious and had a beautiful few as well as a big and clean bathroom. As it was Valentine’s Day, they had decorated the bed with flowers and given us a complementary heart shaped cake. There was definitely good and enough food and drinks and outdoors activity, you can for example get a private trip to the near waterfall without extra costs. There was also a yoga mat available and room service at all times.

Really comprehensive meal options with different fruits and western meal. The staffs are really nice and also share Sri Lanka stories and their own background which let us be more understanding local. This stay was my birthday celebration stay, and the staffs prepare room decoration for me with flowers which make me feel so warm and welcome. We had a great stay in here and will miss this place a lot.

Everything ! The place is amazing. It is charged with history and beautiful. You will find books and board games everywhere to enjoy by the fireplace when the sun goes down. The gardens are a dream. There are very well curated and you will be able to observe the birds nesting in the trees. And the view ! There is no words to describe it. It is breathtaking. Finally, what we enjoyed the most was the service. We are used to travel in luxury hotels and the staff of Thotalagala have nothing to envy to the most experienced staff. The food was really good and every team member was very kind and thoughtful. They gave us a free upgrade, offered us so many little attentions that I can mention everything in this comment. They are knowledgeable and flexible, they care for every little details, they are passionate about hospitality and genuinely caring about people. And at the end, that is the thing that matters. They are the one making this place feels like home and we hope to be able to visit them again.

The staff were beautiful people, very helpful and accommodating. The views are splendid. The FOOD IS THE BEST PART. Amazing buffets, im usually not a fan of buffet, but they were real good. They spoil you rotten. I felt like being within the property only instead of going out.

Nine Skies is the definition of boutique luxury. It is a small hotel with only 5 rooms and the service we received from all the staff was truly so personable this really felt like a home away from home. The design of the whole hotel is beautiful with a wonderful living room, with a cosy fire in the evenings, and our suite room was beautiful with a terrace. The pool has an amazing view over the tea plantation. All the meals we had were delicious. Our host was very friendly and helpful, organising day trips for us and setting up our own table with lots of candles for dinner by the pool one evening, and also set up our own private breakfast at a look out point which were both lovely experiences. This hotel is brilliant if you want a very quiet, secluded spot in the Hill Country with excellent service and food. It is an expensive hotel but it is worth the money.

For nature lovers Sri Lanka is a paradise, this hotel provides just that exposure to nature and provided exceptional service to their customers to enjoy pristine nature in a traditional village in Sri Lanka which is not common in many parts of Sri Lanka. Hotel is surrounded by paddy fields (rice cultivation) and mountain range with ample water streams and medium-size water falls; we were exposed to sounds of water and birds during the entire stay and no sounds of people or street. Hotel is located in an exceptionally calm place; good for metal relaxation, and meditation. Hotel staff exceeded our expectations and provided local tours to experience village life and hiking in the mountains to learn fauna and water falls around the village. Hotel staff is exceptional in cooking traditional Sri Lankan or western food, kudos to the entire staff, manager and kitchen staff. This is one of the few places in Sri Lanka that we felt home sickness when we checkout. We will be back to this unique picturesque place in Sri Lanka in our future visits.

The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking 24 hectares of tea plantation, surrounded by luscious mountains. It is the perfect combination of peace and isolation amidst a breathtaking scenery. The hotel staff are very attentive to guests’ needs - be it booking car transfers or showing the best hike routes in the area. This place is a gem and we look forward to coming back.
