We had a very short one night stay in this hotel, but it really did an impression on us. This hotel is ancient compared to where we stayed in Nepal before. The historical atmosphere of this place is definitely worth the money. The traditional architecture, furniture, in room amenities are very rare in hotels. No elevators, but the staff will carry your luggage up the stairs. We really enjoyed it. The reception staff was very helpful, everything was well organised. If you stay in Patan area, I really recommend this place.

Situated conveniently in the Patan district of Kathmandu, Heranya Yala is set 500 metres from Patan Durbar Square, 6.2 km from Hanuman Dhoka and 6.5 km from Kathmandu Durbar Square. Our room was clean and spacious. Great bathroom and shower too. The highlight by far was the complimentary tour provided by the owner of the hotel. He showed us hidden little corners of Patan that we never would have found ourselves, and provided interesting insights about the local history, culture and everyday life. He has a genuine passion for sharing knowledge with the hotel guests and we are richer for it. This part of the city is far more interesting than the touristy Thamel district. If you’re tossing up between the two areas hands down Patan is more culturally interesting.

People working at the hotel are fantastic, nice, professional, friendly, always helping with everything. Particular thanks to Sapunda and Ranjita at the reception!

Hotel Goodwill is located barely 200 metres from the Mahaboudha Temple, a masterpiece of brick and tile, and the ancient Rudravarna Mahavihar. It features an outdoor swimming pool. The staffs and the owner of the hotel is superb, taking care of us like family. The room is spacious and very comfy bed and pillows. And the security of the hotel is great. No worries about safety.
