The location was really close to Yufuin station , facility was really clean and staff were. Sooooooo nice ,sweat!!!!!

The staff were lovely and really helpful, outdoor family onsen was amazing and everything was clean and thoughtful.

The room is super spacious, and private onsen in the room. Staff are all professional. Appreciated that they have a staff able to speak cantonese. There is nothing to complain about this hotel

Stayed for two nights. Our room had two outdoor onsens which was well maintained and clean. Room is a little dated but still clean. As we had a half board package, daily breakfast and dinner were included. Food was superb with a hearty Japanese breakfast and dinner was shabu shabu on the first night and bbq on the second. Service was top notched. We had a nice Nepalese lady looking after us. We had a private room for all our meals and were very well looked after. Lastly, the staff took our photo and printed it out for us for keepsake upon check out. Nice gesture. I had an extra photo taken with the owner's little brown poodle Hazel. :)

Nihon-no-Ashitaba is the most incredible place! Set in the hills of Yufuin it radiates tranquility and traditional beauty. Gardens are spectacular, filled with Japanese maples and moss carpets surrounding multiple private natural onsens. The meals were outstanding (better than 5star restaurants in Tokyo) with an amazing variety from fugu to their own shabu-shabu featuring locally sourced ingredients. The staff here go way beyond what we expected, always being so helpful by suggesting experiences in the district, driving us around and assisting us with our very limited Japanese! Rooms and amenities were exceptional!!

Breakfast and kaiseki dishes at Nanakawa are truly indulgent! The hotel staff provide impeccable service! The hotel's location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from the shopping street and the Lake. I will definitely consider staying at Nanakawa again on my next visit!
