It is a nice and quaint location. If you are interested in experiencing more traditional Japanese hotel with tatami mats and sleeping on a futon, this is a good option for low price. Naturally it does not provide onsen and the very exotic Ryokan style food service.
The owner is really nice. I can only form the most basic Japanese sentences and he does not speak a lot of English, but still we understood each other. Check-in and introductions for the room and the facilities was all done verbally. I only had to rely on a translator app when I requested a taxi to Shinagawa station during check-out. It is not a bad walk, but it was raining so I did not want to get myself and my luggage wet. Taxi fare was 1600 yen.
If you are walking to the Ryokan from Shinagawa station, then I recommend planning your route to approach from the south. If you take the slightly smaller street towards the Gotanda Waterfront Plaza, the T-intersection at the end is a very good indicator you are very close by and do not need to worry about walking too far and missing your turn.

This place is not only great, it is fabulous! The host is incredibly kind and will make everything so that your stay / trip are the best. It is great if you want to meet people but you’re also completely free of having your own time and life ! One night I was really tired really early and felt bad about not staying up with the others and Li (the host) said « please be yourself and don’t worry! » and that made me feel so at home !
The design of the place is very unusual and you’ll always have things to discover while looking around. If you have an artistic spirit, you’ll definitely have LOTS of things to look into, and if you don’t, you’ll discover so many things during your stay! The beds are really confortable and the place is SO clean! Li makes sure to clean it everyday and also makes sure that you feel confortable and genuinely care about your well being !! At the end of your stay she won’t be just your host but also your friend !
There’s a 7eleven 1 min walk from the location and Osaki Station is 5-6 min walk, and you not only have the Yamanote line but also lots of other lines that are really convenient to explore Tokyo. Li will also recommend you lots of cool places, restaurants and activities since she knows the city so well ! If you’re a dog lover, she will bring her tiny sausage dog at night and he’s very calm and sweet. If you don’t like dogs or are just allergic, she won’t bring him and will make sure that everything is perfectly cleaned so that you feel at home.
I could actually write a really reallyyyy long review about how good this place is, I will definitely go back every time I go in Tokyo. If you were hesitant about booking this place, just go for it! Every person that stayed at the same time as me were all thinking the same thing : what an incredible place to stay!
