Amazing time!! Was Hesitant because we’re normally in the budget range for hotels but this was absolutely worth every penny. You feel so so cared for and they really do go above and beyond to make your time as special as possible. The food was excellent, all kinds of courses and full by the end. Paradise. It embodies Japanese refinement with special attention to the smallest details. The room was beautiful , comfortable and having our own private onsen was a big plus. The staff was outstanding bending over backwards to please. The kaiseki was grand , the food was delicious. The gracious lady who served all our meals went to great length to explain every single ingredient and course.

A wonderful experience staying in an old wooden Japanese house surrounded by nature, complete with its own onsen. The house has a retro feel and a Zen beauty of simplicity. Despite the cold weather and snow on the day we arrived, the rooms were very comfortable and warm. I was a bit sceptical about the shared bathroom, but it turned out to be very pleasant. The indoor and outdoor onsens were both the perfect temperature, but the outdoor onsen in the garden, surrounded by the fallen leaves of November, added a dreamlike touch. Mrs Kinoshita was very discreet yet did everything she could to make us feel welcome, including preparing a special vegetarian menu for me. Communication was easy as she was skilled at using a tablet with a translation app in our language. The food was AMAZING — some of the best we had in Japan!

This is a beautiful hotel, clean, and with very friendly staff. It has private onsens as well as female and male ones. It's about a 10 min walk from the ski field and 5 mins from the bus station. The rooms are well heated and come with private bathrooms.
