The hotel was lovely, free welcome drinks and cakes were very nice to have. We didn't have the breakfast or dinner as we wanted to eat outside but they seemed very good as well.

Very beautiful accommodations- first time staying at a ryokan with a very young child and they were very accommodating! The location was gorgeous, the private and public baths were beautiful and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would love to visit again.

We arrived to a stunning sight of Tanigawa Mountain, which immediately set a serene tone for our stay. - Room Ambiance: We stayed in the "Tachibana" room, named after flowers. It was quiet, peaceful, and surprisingly spacious. Memorable experience. Very charming Ryokan with a long >100 year history but well maintained, and spotlessly clean. The room was amazing with a great view of the mountain opposite and the river below. The in-room onsen was definitely the highlight. Alot of effort and attention to detail went into guest comfort and satisfaction. The Kaiseki dinner was amazing, beautifully presented and overwhelming in the number of courses served. Similar for breakfast. And to ensure no guest went hungry, delicious desserts were served for tea, and inari sushi for supper. Heavy snowfall transformed the landscape into a winter wonderland, which was truly a sight to behold. Compliments to Ms Suta and her team.

Loved being tucked away from town on the orchard. The apples and apple juice were delicious and the owners were super helpful as we had an injury to deal with (a trip to the hospital), and they even gave the sorry sore one a lift home. Amazing hospitality. Would definitely recommend. Very comfortable and spacious with all the required appliances

The host was very friendly and welcoming. He was respectful and gave us space but had lots of very good suggestions which we enjoyed. He even helped us to set up the bbq pit and get it going so we could bbq, and there were lots of groceries and things that were provided. The facilities are generous: can take 12 guests comfortably with two shower rooms and 4 WCs The place is quiet with easy parking and within short drive (less than 30 minutes) of major outdoor adventure locations. Its a great base camp for outdoor activities. I would love to come again in a different season and see all that minakami has to offer!

The location is around the corner from a great little open air onsen which has a fantastic view of the river, mountains, and stunning autumn foliage. Breakfast was provided, with barista coffee and delicious freshly baked pastries, plus there was a coffee station that guests could use at their leisure. The option to use the lodge's e-bikes free of charge was a great touch, especially considering it's on top of a hill, and about a 30 minute walk into town. The staff were friendly and welcoming, with a special shout out to the owner Craig who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and easy. We will be recommending the lodge to anyone looking for a getaway to "real Japan", to see the amazing local landscapes and sample some of the best of the best local onsen. While my partner and I were travelling as a couple, it is obvious that this accommodation would also be perfect for single backpackers/hikers/skiers, as well as larger groups. All in all, a great stay, which we would highly recommend and hope to visit again in the future.
