The price may seem a little bit steep however what comes with it is, great service, and more importantly dinner (check in before 5) and breakfast in the morning! The staff was wonderful and they truly encapsulated the omotenashi experience Japan is known for!

There was a good variety of food, very well presented, it was tasty, very filling. The room itself was very nice, we had mountain view, recommend and we opted for private onsen, also very nice.

This hotel is an absolute gem. Located in the woods next to a small river, it is a really tranquil location. The hotel staff is one of the nicest and friendliest I have ever come across. The rooms have a really authentic vibe, and I slept so good in the fresh air and the sound of the river.
Breakfast and dinner are also very good, the food is wonderfully presented.
Thanks for a wonderful experience!

The Lady that welcomed us was really nice to us and showed us where everything was. The staff can speak english well enough so that we had no troubles even though our japanese is seriously lacking.
The breakfast was an amazing experience, tasting great and actually more than we could eat.

Nice room, informative tv interface (shows which laundry machines are in use and for how long, crowdedness of breakfast and onsen, possibility to stream etc.), very spacious bed, comfy although a little bit too hard for my taste, nice breakfast as well. Good location close to metro station.

The room was generous in Japanese standards. The location is to the west of the busy shopping area of Kyoto but not too far to walk to. The best part facility is definitely the public bath that is open form 15.00 to the following morning 10.00. Absolutely excellent. After a sweaty day outside it is amazing to soak in the hot bath and even in the morning it allows a relaxed start to the day.

My wife left her purse in the cab. We asked the hotel staff for help because the cab was caught on the street and we didn't take a receipt for the trip, so we didn't know the name of the cab company. The girl at the front desk first called all the cab companies in Kyoto and then contacted the police. Our bag was found there. The hotel staff member made every effort and helped us a lot. We would like to thank her for that and say that we would love to come back to this hotel again!

Such a beautiful place to stay and quite a cultural experience. They gave us a welcome snack which consisted of a cup of tea and a Japanese sweet which I thought was a great touch. We didnt have dinner but the breakfast came with the room and it was exceptional. Not too heavy but all side dishes were well thought out. We took a taxi to go back to Kyoto Station, but 3 staffs stayed with us until the taxi arrived and also sent us off till our taxi was out of their sight.
