We were in Cross Hotel for 4 nights and everything was perfect. The room was cosy, the bed was big and spatious and everything was very clean. The location is perfect. Breakfast is more of a western type, but we found it delicious.

Location is absolutely perfect, close to pretty old streets, some large modern ones, shops and restaurants. Also fairly central with many trains and metro lines around it. The hotel is new and modern, larger than most and luxurious despite the reasonable prices. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The staff is (as expected in Japan) polite, courteous and happy to serve you. The restaurant on the 8th floor serves good food at a fair price. I would not look for another accommodation if I were to go back to Kyoto. The Gate Takasegawa would be my choice without hesitation.

The best hotel I stayed at in Japan! The bed is big, the room is clean and a decent size, and there’s even a massage chair and a foot massager in the room! They provide free toiletries, and the breakfast is buffet-style and delicious—even for vegetarians.

Amazing boxes acting as rooms, iPod control is a really interesting idea that works! You have a locker under your bed that fits all your items. Place is super clean. The common area was great for meeting other guests as well as staff members, who offered me tremendous amounts of help and tips not only for Kyoto but other parts of Japan.

Very clean, free drinks like coffee or hot chocolate, walking distance from Gion neighbourhood, where you can find all sorts of restaurants, bars and cool places. Also the staff is very nice and extremely helpful.
