The room was pretty big. And the hole throuh the door was a lot more spacious than many other hotel rooms. There was even a humidifier in the room. Hotel staff was helpful, they offered sake and unlimited coffee.

Right in the centre, with a great view of Kyoto. Breakfast and restaurant on the 8th floor in general were great. Do not eat in restaurants to the right from the hotel (super touristy overpriced bad food). Take to the left and go to the part where it's quiet. They have some good local restaurants in small dark streets.

The hotel was in a very central location with good connections to buses and the subway. Also very close to a busy shopping area. However, it was in a very quiet side street so we never heard any noise from the street. The rooms also had very good soundproofing.
The owner was very hospitable, he gave us a lot of information on which attractions were worth visiting and the best way to get to them.
The rooms were a good size, we had a double and the one with the balcony. They both had a washing machine and an area for drying clothes. Everything was vey well thought out and extreme clean.

This was my favorite hotel. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was sick from food poisoning and could not enjoy it to the max, but the staff was extremely good to me. I cannot thank them enough. The futon beds were extremely comfortable, all the structure really took me back to almost 200 years ago. I really wanted to get the traditional breakfast, but I was too sick so I got the western one that was delicious. Cant wait to be back.
