The room was very clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The owner, Valeria, was extremely helpful and made sure we had the best possible stay. Everything was well taken care of, including the correct mosquito repellent, which we really appreciated.

This is one of the most unique hotels we have ever stayed in - I would highly recommend Aquatio. You are within 5 minutes walking distance to pretty much anything in Matera and 2-3 minutes walk to the fabulous restaurant Francesca (we dined there twice it was so fantastic). We also used the spa to get a couples massage and my partner used the water therapies. The front desk staff were fantastic before and during our stay - they really helped us to arrange parking, the shuttle to and from the hotel to our parking spot and other requests we had like booking restaurants for us. A true concierge experience! You will thoroughly enjoy your stay. We will be back!

A beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Sassi. If you are looking for an authentic "grota" experience, this is it. The room had a very high ceiling and was very cosy. The staff was very helpful, the lobby is also very nice. In front of the hotel there is an amazing view of the old town. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

I think this was one of the most magical places I have ever been. Honestly, I don't know where to start... The architecture is impressive, the service impeccable, the hospitality wonderful, the room perfect. I think I only have praises and the certainty that I want to return to this time-space one day.

Such an amazing Cave hotel. the people are friendly. The room was spacious, with high ceilings. the furniture and amenities all on point. the bed and sleep-sofa both were comfortable, while still also looking like a cave <3 The room also comes with 2 giant moisture guards that keep the room nice. they make noise but can be switched off when going to sleep. Be sure to expect some humidity as it is a cave, this is not a negative point to me as it is logical but it appears not everyone was prepared for it haha You order breakfast the day before. It is then delivered to the room in the morning at the time you choose. The selection was good and the food lovely. on a final note, the entire city and also the hotel is surrounded by slopes and stairs. Wear some good shoes and take your time to get your luggage to and from the place you are staying. There is a manned parking garage near the hotel on the Via Vena (Parcheggio Communbale Via Vena) (few min walk) which costs 20 euro's a day. good price!

Huge apartment in a great location near the duomo, easy to reach all the sights on foot. You need to park 10 mins walk away but it's worth it to stay in the old town.
